If a deal doesn't get done I think JH and his management would be pretty filthy with Freo. Could be the instigation to get him to sign a long-term deal.
-
How funny would it be if the Eagles offer a great deal and they get him next year. Or even better he signs on and becomes a coleman medalist and multiple premiership player.
-
Clubs are happy to help depth players move to clubs where they may get more of an opportunity. The North one was more of a head scratcher as he is best 22. I guess with Hall and Polec coming in they thought he was surplus.
-
You really think Kent is worth more than this? The bloke can hardly get out on the park. North Melbourne traded a guy to the Swans who played 20 odd games in 2018 for pick 61.

Better than nothing.... all the best Kent.

Yeah agree. It really depends what they are wanting.

Official New Rule Changes for 2019
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The 6-6-6 starting rule will really benefit teams who are strong at centre clearances, which is great for us. A quick centre clearance will give you a very good chance of scoring. I think this is why we will want to use Preuss and Gawn in tandem. It will give us a good chance to win the majority of centre clearances. -
Apparently Fagan came out and said he hasn't requested a trade. Barrett then back tracked saying 'in an ideal world Dayne Beams would be at Collingwood next year'.
-
haha brilliant

Pick 6 is worth 1,751 points. Pick 10 is worth 1,395 and pick 23 is 815 totalling 2,210. So on the points system they would win....
-
I won't listen to trade radio when he is on. Mind you I've pretty much stopped listening to all of them. Bartel is really the only one I don't mind listening to.

Did the Brie pass it's medicals? Always a low risk option.

Saw him today down at Junction Oval at the JLT one day final.

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!

Happy with this. Important players as that high pressure, tackling machine. Hopefully with a full pre-season he can have a massive 2019. -
100% agree. There are plenty of one-paced mids out there. Perhaps we've already got something in the works and know Tyson will be surplus to needs.... Andy Brayshaw perhaps?? Speculation only.
-
Agree with this. Maybe not too small, but definitely a turnover merchant.
-
I don't see what all the fuss is about with Shiel, he's an average midfielder. Oliver, Viney & Brayshaw are all better than him and Harmes and Petracca could easily surpass him also. Last season he averaged just over 24 touches a game at under 70% disposal efficiency. He was elite only in inside 50s, everything else he is average or below average. Won't be the difference between a flag or no flag at the Bombers.

Uncontracted and restricted/unrestricted free agents are very different things. An uncontracted player must be traded, either for picks, players or a combination of the two. If an agreement can't be reached then that player has to nominate for the draft and hope no other club picks him up. A free agent can walk to the other club without a trade, however often the club they are leaving will receive a compensation pick from the AFL. While your point that most players reach their destination is correct, the two types of contract situations are very different.

Trade Radio saying Rory Lobb is worth a 1st round pick?? I thought a 2nd round would get it done for him or am I missing something?
-
The more I think about it, if Freo will play hardball on Neale we are better asking for Freo's pick 5 (will be 6) and Freo's 2019 first round pick. There is likely to be some other swap of picks done. Hopefully the next move would be for Carlton to offer up one of their 2nd round picks for Tyson. We can then go to the Swans with this 2nd round and our 2019 first round pick to get a hold of their pick 13, potentially with swap of other picks etc to get the points right. We would then trade pick 6 and probably a few other picks and swaps etc to get May. Out: Hogan, 2018 Pick 6, Tyson, 2018 Pick 25. In: May, 2018 Pick 13, 2019 Pick (likely 5-8 range) Then let Taylor and co. go to work with those picks.

2018 Player Reviews: # 31 Bayley Fritsch
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Love him. Shouldn't have been dropped for the prelim. Will become a quality wing/half backer. I think him, Salem & Kolodjasnij will all rotate on the wings and half back next season. -
I think this is a good idea and actually gives hard working players in the state leagues another avenue to get on an AFL list.
-
I find it really hard to believe that the list management team would not already know that Tyson would not want to head to GC. They would have conversations with Tyson's management and ask the question about moving to the GC, which would be shut down quickly and everyone would look at other options. This just seems to be media trying to create stories.
