I think that’s one of the big issue for us fans. To say ‘oh I want to go play for a big club’ after a large number of us spend our hard earned to go to games and support him, to then turnaround and say that is a real slap in the face.

I think everyone in the AFL, the club and supporters understand that he has gone through a traumatic experience and is struggling mentally. He has mentioned this in the interviews and also explained he is seeing a psychologist who specialises in trauma. I think the thing that is perplexing to most, is this is probably not the time to be making life altering decisions, such as completely moving away from a club you have been at for 10 years and have built up many strong friendships. I understand that emotions of been high for him and his family, but surely if you're close to him you're saying Christian get yourself right, spend time working on recovery both physically and mentally and once you've done that let's discuss your plans. That might mean next year you play at Melbourne, but at least you've taken the time and worked on getting back to playing good football before leaving. If this time next year he still wants to leave then I think the club should do so.

Is that you Craig? Get off a Demons forum.

Please explain what this means?

After a loss there is something quite cathartic about seeing posters have absolute meltdowns…. Makes me laugh and brings me back to earth. Thanks DLand posters.

I'm not on X, it is an absolute cesspool. Tbh I'm not really on any social media that much, it is one of the biggest factors in the downfall of society in my mind.

That article was written years ago and brought up by someone on X.

I think he is one Carlton would definitely throw up. It would also take Carltons 1st this year and future 1st.... plus we may advise Carlton this year's first needs to be in the top 6-8 so they may have to work a way to do that.

So much brand building. First Christian, now Kane. My brand seems to be stagnant atm.

A caller on SEN (I know, I know) said he had advised the club he wants to be traded to Blues, Pies or Lions. If this was true and I'm the club, I am speaking with some of the Lions young Vic boys and seeing if they want to come home on a larger salary and longer contract. I'm thinking Rayner and Bailey more specifically.
-
Earlier in the year he was hanging out with Gawn and Clarry prior to games…
-
Honest question, if he were to walk away from the club next year if we don’t trade him, would that be a break of contract and we would be off the hook salary wise?
-
People have already alluded to him planning a massive off season and potential overseas training camp
-
I’ll tell you one thing, I will not be cooking anymore of his recipes if he leaves
-
Would you do Cerra and Carlton’s first pick this year and 1st next year?
-
I think they are very different situations.

I mean Buddy left the Hawks after they just won a premiership, though he was a free agent. He’s a much bigger player than Trac, so I would have to say that would’ve been worse, but then they won two more flags 😂
-
The club are handling this perfectly. Just continue to say he’s contracted and we aren’t trading him. Wait and see what happens. No one comes with a monster off he’s back for day 1 of pre season. A contract’s a contract.

PM me… couldn’t find it on there 😅

Tbf both Hunter and Billings are more accomplished than Jones. But I understand your point that we will be needing to find some diamonds in the rough to improve.

This is the issue, they can come out and back our culture etc. all they want, some will choose to believe it and some won't. It's almost like some posters want Roffey to come out and tell us that the club is imploding and we have so many issues we have decided to fold. I'm not sure what they want to hear.
-
Agreed that the players traded in the last two years have been ordinary. Guess my point around it was Petracca also needs to accept he is taking up a chunk of the salary cap, so makes it harder to chase players. If that was one of his issues, then maybe him, Clayton and whoever else is highly paid can come together and drop 5-10% off the salary cap..... this is tongue in cheek btw as I know they aren't doing that.
-
Thank god. It's a disgrace.
-
Potentially, but as Geelong have shown we can still be contending when he is 33/34.

There isn't much else they can say. Both Goody and Pert would have a lot of media training and with that comes the ability to answer questions truthfully, without giving away too much information. If you listen to Goody's presser after the game he said 'as it stands right now Christian will be a Melbourne player next year', or something to that effect. That is basically saying, at this stage he is contracted but if there are changes i.e. a strong offer then this may change.
