POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
After the Geelong game I made a promise to myself to stay relaxed during games, given I threw the toys out of the cot in that last quarter. The bombers game I laughed every time we missed a kick or gave up an easy goal. Even during out capitulation in the last quarter v the hawks, I was relaxed and just accepted that we are not quite good enough yet. Well I'm ashamed to say that I relapsed yesterday. After watching behind after behind after behind, I lost my sh** and went full angry supporter mode...

PREGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
We lost our first 3 there to Port Adelaide when we were average, so after that we've gone 4-3 so recent history isn't too bad other than the shocker v Freo.

If it was me I'd go Sharp in for Spargo and Laurie sub. Leave the rest of the structure the same.

PREGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
Binman this conversation got me thinking about our plans for the season and if the 0-5 start would potentially change the high performance teams thinking? With that start we essentially had no wriggle room regards to dropping many games, so I wonder if we would forgo heavy loading phases to an extent to give us the best chance of winning every match to make finals. It also brings up an interesting argument about whether it is better to do some loading in the hopes you peak in September and miss finals completely vs not doing it and actually making finals. Keen on your thoughts!

It's all about the cost and also if the Jackson trade is actually in play or not. Our first priority is getting Kozzy signed up and he can have almost whatever he wants... The next will be seeing if Jackson does want to come back to Melbourne and if so, how many picks and salary it takes to get him. If the Jackson thing falls through, then we need to be looking at alternatives at the right price and McKay is probably going to be the best option for a KPF/2nd ruck we will find.

Last year he kicked 49.21 from 21 games, though granted there were probably a few out on the full. If he was available for a decent price we would be crazy not to go for him, given we are crying out for a 200cm forward who can average over 2 goals a game. He would also help accelerate JVRs game I think, given he would be the main focal point of the forward line and JVR would play second tall.

Callum Mills
The one outcome which shows me their current system is a failure is the Viney concussion. Bo Allan got a week suspension because at the time Viney wasn't declared to be concussed. He then had delayed symptoms later in the week, however as the AFL have already handed down the punishment they couldn't change it. Outcome based systems don't work and it needs to be action based. With that Mills should have got a 2 week minimum suspension.

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
I'd like to see Adams get a few games throughout the year so he knows the level he needs to get to next season. I've liked what I've seen at VFL level this year

Agree with this. I'd maybe give May a rest next week v Saints for TMac and have him cherry ripe for Kings Bday the following week. These guys will need some weeks off to get through a full season!

I think with F/S they should increase it to minimum 150 or even 200 games, but I hope it stays at some level. The NGAs will be important to grow the game in minority groups and when used in the right way, is an important tool in growing the game. The issue has been that the AFL bring in rules and then flip flop and change things regularly. It sounds like they are getting back to making them more fair and also fit for purpose, with teams having to register players to their academies 2-3 years before they are eligible to be drafted.

Reasons for our Inaccuracy?
100% agree... plus he's not overly quick for a small player. Kynan Brown could potentially go past him, though he's probably a worse quick but quicker and better pressure player.

Reasons for our Inaccuracy?
I think it's different for different players. Gawn - just not a good kick in general Trac - similar to Gawn Fritsch - he is mentally stuffed atm JVR - good kick but currently can't get the ball Spargo - generally a good kick from within 40m but missed a sitter on the weekend, suggests a mental thing Sparrow - good kick but doesn't get enough of it

The Kalani White Thread
I think Jeff spoke about this in an interview and said he didn't sign them up as he wanted them to just enjoy their junior footy atm. But I agree, fingers crossed the family do think about moving back to Melbourne!
