  1. Not really sure where he fits into the Freo side though with Treacy and Amiss? I guess they may come sniffing for him. I still think if Jackson is vehemently wanting to leave then picks can get it done.... everyone else trades picks!
  2. I think that's why due diligence needs to be done. What was going on. What are you doing now. Do you want to be an AFL footballer and not part of this? These are all questions you would ask and the deal would be short, say 2 years.
  3. Assuming we can afford him in our salary cap, 2026 & 2027 first round picks plus probably a 2nd round pick. The hard thing is Freo would have to accept the trade, and they are going to have serious egg on their face if it does eventuate. I guess it depends how much Luke really wants to get out of Perth. I am from Perth originally and do know people who know their family. It is pretty messy everything that has gone on, so there is a decent chance he says to Freo I need to leave ASAP.
  4. I reckon I'll be chucking a tenner on Kozzy for 5 goals this week.... nothing surer.
  5. Ahhh now our full Casey plan is coming to fruition. We have been buying up plots of land in Cranbourne I take it?
  6. Let's all remember this is a guy who had 11 shots on goal against Sydney....11! Kicked 5.4 but just imagine what could've been.... I reckon as early as this year he will have an 8-9 goal game
  7. That's a real feather in Brad Green's cap
  8. The only reason I think it could work is to do with one man, Matt Whelan He is the best indigenous support worker in the game and we have him at our club. If anyone can support these young guys to get the best out of themselves it is him.
  9. Wonder who at Freo he texted first....
  10. Love how each new deal they say it's the richest ever deal.... that is going to happen every year as the CBA goes up haha
  11. Assume your taking the p 1 5 5 out of me with that post? It absolutely could backfire badly.... but could also be amazing, not sure how hard that is to understand? And again, this was said by Billy Brownless I'm not making stuff up and I'd like to think I have a decent rep on here for that.
  12. Agree. It may be nothing or maybe if the relationship is untenable we give up a first rounder and they cover 20% or something. I'm sure that can be worked out.
  13. The other thing were he to nominate us, we can go to someone like Bergman and say 'look we've got a gun key forward coming, we've got Clarry, Trac and Kozzy in the middle., we are in it to win flags'
  14. In a league of his own?
  15. Earlier this year I would've said 100% no to JUH, however the more I think about it if he needed a fresh start and the deal was right maybe we take the punt. Obviously it could backfire badly, but imagine if it came off. He could propel us to multiple flags, that's how talented he is.
  16. No idea... just someone told me Bill Brownless said this on Triple M. I imagine they would know each other from the Indigenous All stars and such.
  17. Not sure if anyone else heard this but a mate said Billy Brownless said on Triple M he believes Jamarra is keen to play for the Dees if Kozzy stays.... Don't shoot the messenger.
  18. What are the Suns going to do with all these players.... Think we need to be on the pulse ready to snatch up someone when they leave for more opportunities.
  19. Simon obviously missed the interview with Andy Brayshaw a couple months ago saying he would love to have Pickett at Freo.... Seriously they are insufferable as a club. Have an inferiority complex due to their standing against big brother the Eagles.
  20. I will say that having worked in an investment firm who has had AFL players as clients, what they are reported to be paid isn't always accurate. I had a fairly high profile AFL player about 6-7 years ago I was dealing with in Victoria and he was earning about $200k less than what was reported.... In any case, Pickett is an absolute gun and could be a top 10 player as early as the end of 2025. Also, if his salary isn't indexed to the salary cap increases then in 4-5 years it could be a much smaller % of the cap. You just have to trust the club know what they are doing in regards to the amounts and number of years.
  21. They also don't get paid $700k-$1m a year
  22. It was interesting to hear Jeff White talk about the training hours in the podcast this week. I believe the AFLPA have managed to get restrictions on coached hours etc with the club, so maybe they just don't have the time to do this type of training on top of everything else? If that is the case it is a bit of an indictment on the AFLPA, the average worker does 8 hours a day...
  23. The thing I want to know is what type of conditions are they practicing their goal kicking each week? Is it just an end of training add-on that they have a bit of a giggle and fun, or is it a genuine part of our training regime. As the old saying goes, you practice how you play, so if it isn't a serious focus then it's any wonder we are terrible at goal kicking. There's a couple of things I would look to do if I was coaching goal kicking, specifically set shot kicking: I would have a designated 30-40 min block focused on this. I would have players do multiple leads running back and forth to simulate the running in a game and then have them mark on the lead. I would then time them for the 30 seconds and have them focus on their breathing and routine prior to walking in to kick. The purpose of this is to simulate the level of running they would do in a game prior to having a set shot and enabling them to be better equipped for kicking goals under fatigue. The running could focus on each position, for example JVR could do 20-30 metres forward, back and then forward again. Whereas the mids could run say 100m from the back 50 to 35m out to simulate the scenarios they would often have in game. I would consider changing the width of the goals for kicking practice, say 1-2 meters narrower to make the end target smaller. This would then force them to really get their kicking in training spot on and once they are in a game situation the goals would look bigger and easier to kick. I feel like these are pretty simple things the coaches should be doing and if they aren't they should probably have a look at themselves, specifically Choco.
  24. 100%! The AFL need to invest in a proper secondary competition and urgently. The VFL can still exist, but it should just be for local Vic clubs. They need to start by creating the AFL reserves and have only affiliated clubs competing and give the option for SA and WA teams to join if they like. The reserves listed players who aren't on AFL lists should also be paid well enough that the incentive is for all the top players will play in this comp as opposed to rural or local comps.
  25. After the Geelong game I made a promise to myself to stay relaxed during games, given I threw the toys out of the cot in that last quarter. The bombers game I laughed every time we missed a kick or gave up an easy goal. Even during out capitulation in the last quarter v the hawks, I was relaxed and just accepted that we are not quite good enough yet. Well I'm ashamed to say that I relapsed yesterday. After watching behind after behind after behind, I lost my sh** and went full angry supporter mode...
