The way it was prosecuted was so weak, but my line of questioning would've have been around from the point your arms were outstretched in the air looking to smother your next motion was to turn your body and drop your shoulder into Brayshaw's head. One option you had was to put your arms out in front of you to lessen the blow to Brayshaw, why didn't you do this instead? This idea that it was a football action is nonsense, it was a split second decision and he got it wrong but wasn't penalised.

This is the thing, the alternative is Lever plays on McKay or Curnow and then we lose his intercepting. Plus McKay will still probably kick 2-3 goals on him anyway and will do so against some of the best defenders in the comp. You need to look at what works best as a unit, not just 'oh Mckay kicked goals on Tomlinson so he was poor'

Problem is the way the game is now being played, and where I see it going with concussion issues, bulls won't be as important. It's now more about speed and kicking skills than anything else. Contested possessions aren't as important as they once were.

Good write up. The way I'm viewing Brayshaw this year is like he did an ACL, which could happen to anyone. We would have to find a replacement in that instance for the 2024 season. From 2025 on we will have the salary cap to go and find someone from another club if we feel the need. This is not diminishing the loss of Gus, which is massive. Just that every side will have to deal with some type of injury issue throughout the year.
