  1. 100% agree. The only way he will learn is continuing to play in the AFL. Eric Hipwood is a good exactly of that. He had a lot of stinkers in the AFL (still does), but the Lions persisted with him and kept getting games into him. We need to do the same. Personally I'd like to see Fritsch dropped and play Petty, JVR and Jeffo this week. Means we can always have 2 key forwards in the F50.
  2. My hopes for the final team are as follows: FB: Bowey May Lever HB: McVee Turner Salem C: Lindsay Petracca Langdon HF: Viney van Rooyen Chandler F: Melksham Jefferson Pickett R: Gawn Oliver Rivers Int: Tholstrup Langford Billings Sparrow Sub: Sharp CBA Options: I want to see the mids put into categories such as: Bulls - Oliver/Viney/Trac Users - Pickett/Rivers/Langford We should never have more than 2 players from the two categories above in the same CBA. It will ensure if say Oliver is in there, we surround him with Pickett and Rivers, or Trac and Pickett. I'm sick of constantly seeing Trac, Viney and Oliver in the same CBA. I also want to see more even numbers as opposed to Viney Trac and Oliver at 80-90% CBAS and then a Langford at 5%. I also wouldn't be opposed to adding Lindsay or McVee to the midfield rotations as a 'user'.
  3. He will get a lot of shots though and create mis-matches with his strength and then mobility. He will also get a lot of shots within 30m, as opposed to the 40-50m which he is very hit and miss at.
  4. I think Trac should become almost a full time forward, at least with a 70/30 split forward to mid. Clarry at his best is a gun midfielder, even with his disposal issues, so the hope would be he gets to his best. Viney will just need to work on becoming the best pressure forward he can, or even potentially could he be used as a lockdown small defender? So my view assuming they all stay is - Trac forward, Viney forward or back and Clarry stays in the middle assuming he gets himself fitter. The one I'm really unsure of his Sparrow, who I feel should be pushed out of the best 22 ASAP. He doesn't have any real weapons as a forward or mid and seems to similar to those other 3.
  5. I think Mentha is our only Cat B rookie atm. AMW was moved to a Cat A rookie this year. I imagine Sinnema will be a late pick or even rookie selection.
  6. We have many problems, but signing a 194cm basketballer to our Cat B spot isn't one of them. You know we are going poorly when DLand is melting down because we picked a 'basketballer' in the list spot made for people who haven't played competitive footy for 3 years 🤣
  7. PF I do have to say you are very bipolar with our young players... you have defended Jefferson and call for him to play relentlessly, even when he was showing f' all at the VFlL. Then you decide to pot the Kolt who has actually shown more than Jeffo did in his first year and a half.
  8. I have no doubt they will be able to keep at least their current levels, especially Langford and Lindsay. Pickett is already top 10 so doesn't really have to do much different. Just keep doing what you're doing.
  9. Therein lies our biggest problem... our three main mids are terrible at hitting targets. The positive is Pickett, Lindsay and Langford are all near the top and they are our future.
  10. I think we took a gamble with playing not many talls and it backfired miserably with our injuries, but this is football and sometimes you get that. We had Rivers playing on Ethan Read ffs, Rivers is 188cm and Read is 202cm. Lever should have been replaced by TMac, or if they have given up on him then play Adams and give him a crack. We went in with only Petty and Jefferson and lost Petty early so expected a 4th gamer to hold down a key forward spot and ruck.... idiotic. We are not skilled enough to play the 'undersized' gameplan like a Collingwood or Hawks do.
  11. Goodwin should tear shreds of the side and make it clear that whoever isn't putting on pressure will be dropped next week. It's all his favourites as well...
  12. We are very good at bombing it down average defenders throats. We've made Comben, McKay and Ratagolea all look like All Aus defenders this year....
  13. Collingwood run with Moore and Frampton and then have Howe as the third tall, who is a similar size to Howes but obviously has a big leap. It can definitely be beneficial at ground level and playing the rebound game, but it means our mids need to put on a lot of pressure. If they don't Suns will take easy marks inside 50.
  14. Think the game he was referring to was the Hawks....
  15. He's out injured I believe for 4-6 weeks.
  16. Yep. Then you have Petty to ensure we always have at least 2 key talls down there. They are essentially playing Melksham as a key forward, it has worked at times but can fail miserably when the bigger defender gets on top of him.
  17. I hope so! Deserves another crack and should be played the rest of the season. Sounds like they are dropping JVR but I don't really understand why. Has limited opportunity forward and kicked 2 goals and competes as second ruck. I wanted to see JVR, Jeffo and Petty forward this week and Melksham out or sub personally.
  18. If we play Jeffo as sole forward we are essentially throwing him to the wolves. He needs a senior body down there to assist him I think. I want him to succeed!
  19. Where did this news come from?
  20. Geelong are the same. Funny enough the one top 10 pick they've had recently looks to be a potential bust in Jhye Clark. But they've obviously done amazingly well with Holmes, Sullivan and Humphries recently and Miers and De Koning before them. They obviously also do well bringing in ready to go players regularly to top up. This is what we need to do this year and next. We need more players in the 24-28 bracket to immediately improve our best 22 and also improve our depth.
  21. He's on the rookie list mate, give it a rest.
  22. I get that but they don't list that in the stats I can find. If you can find something that does please let me know. Just as a comparison, Jeremy Cameron who I think is an excellent kick has a career goalkicking of 696.389 at 64.15% not including OOF which he would have many. So he is less than 5% better than McKay.
  23. I think the other thing to remember is he is often trying to execute kicks at high speeds and while taking on opponents. This would be a directive by the coaches given his speed. You only have to look at two goals he has kicked this year, the first game v GWS and then again vs the Eagles, both on the run from around 50m to see the talent this guy has. I agree that he should be moved from the backline and used on the wing and through the midfield the rest of the year.
