  1. Wow it just gets worse and worse. So you finish 7th and don’t even get a home Wildcard weekend game? Is there any way the AFL could make the fixture any more convoluted?
  2. 100%. Imagine a coach giving up on his players? Just because he knows that finals are unlikely doesn’t mean he shouldn’t turn up trying to win every game.
  3. Would be pretty hard to guess. Some would be front end, others back end. Some would be similar each year. Plus the media can over estimate salaries for a lot of players. I remember an AFL player was a client at a company I work at and he was a pretty high profile player. I saw his annual salary and it was less than I thought he would've been getting....

  5. I think we need to find a genuine lockdown defender for the smalls to release McVee. Playing half back and some mid time is fine for him and that's what Sheezel and Daicos do.
  6. There aren't many blokes 203cm who are super quick...
  7. If Wright is looking for a fresh start and Bombers want him off their books I’m all for it. He’s contracted until 2027 so guessing we would take on the full salary but maybe only give a third round pick or something. Given we have Brown, Schache, Tomlinson and potentially TMac all off our list we need some mature key position players to replace them.
  8. He's only 21 years old though, so has plenty of growth left in his game. A lot of American players don't even get drafted until that age and he's already played 2-3 seasons.
  9. Bulls supporters were having a cry over trading for him. Could be a masterstroke.
  10. I’m just turning up to watch Dan Houston…
  11. I did say earlier that I’d like us to keep our powder dry, but as long as it isn’t two first rounders I would be happy as he would make us instantly better. Who knows, maybe we can still go after Callaghan next year or get someone just as good in the top 10 of the draft This year
  12. I wouldn’t… that’s a lot!
  13. I can see one of two options: - we trade next years first plus probably a 2nd rounder for Houston (probably other pick swaps involved) - We trade our likely pick 6/7 plus a later pick for two first rounders (Freo most likely) and use one towards Houston plus other pick swaps. If Port have a Cumming or Perryman already coming via free agency they may then do the deal as they replace Houston and get picks. I can’t see us offering 2 first rounders due to his age. I would be pumped to get him though and he would instantly improve our kicking skills and make us more dynamic.
  14. I wonder if the power going after Perryman or Cumming means they will be ok to let him go?
  15. He’s the ultimate professional, so think it will be more mental for him
  16. Cotton wool time!
  17. Personally I'm not concerned with the recruitment of either Hunter or Billings. Hunter was pretty solid last year and this year he's been hit with injury, though I question his commitment this year. Billings has been ok in patches and really poor at other times, but it is his first year back after a lot of injuries so keen to see him after another full pre season. Both were brought over on 2 year deals, so not like we've tied ourselves into long contracts and they didn't cost much in draft picks. McAdam is a bit of a strange one, some of the stuff he did for Adelaide was amazing but he hasn't looked like it this year. Will hold judgement until after the coming preseason but looking like a bust. The one decision that blows my mind was to offer Schache another season, rather than using that spot to look for a genuine backup ruck. Given Fullarton had never played as a full time ruck it was a strange decision, as I see him as more of a replacement of Schache.
  18. I thought that was Perryman, who is from SA I think.
  19. That’s based on media reports, but they have been wrong before. Guess we will know more in the coming months!
  20. She is concerned with his consistency of keeping his bedroom clean… but picket fence has looked past this
  21. I do hope we keep out hat in the ring for Josh Battle if possible. He would be a great replacement for Rivers at half back as someone who can take both talls and medium sized players. Cumming I am also very keen on as a free agent, but not so much Houston given the cost. Imagine a starting backline of May, Petty, Lever, Battle, Cumming, Bowey & McVee next year.
  22. He’s listed at 200cms on the eagles site…. But really splitting hairs
  23. We just don't seem to draft any 200cm+ players.... At least Petty at 197cm is close and hopefully we get back to playing him in his best position... DEFENDER
  24. I hate this so much and it's just Americanised shizen.
  25. Probably allows us to pay less per year and enabling us to go after other players
