No way Lobb and Peatling are walking straight into our side.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
The thing I find most interesting is the different rankings being presented are quite different, which bodes well for picking some late gems. Must be a very even but deep draft from the different views of the 'experts'. -
Agree with this, but I think Cumming would replace a Bowey or AMW quite comfortably.
-
Totally agree with this and it’s the reason the hawks won 3 straight flags, but it’s not the same as the NGA stuff
-
I understand why people are angry, but I think as DD36 says we do need to look at the big picture and I think continuing to grow the game is the important thing. I do hope the AFL put safeguards in place so someone can’t just move to an area late in their junior time and join a club. For instance, they should have to be in the academy for a minimum of 3 years or something.
-
100% agree. It was such a short sighted move at the time. The whole reason for those academies was to increase the likelihood of indigenous and kids that come from non-footballing backgrounds into the AFL
-
We were able to take Jack Viney with a pick in the 20s when he was bid on at 7, not long before they changed it to bidding. so we don’t always get screwed
-
It was a knee jerk reaction by the Australian knee jerk league, however I’m pretty sure we got JVR with that pick so I still think we won that one… time to move on

Binman calling him Skinner haha classic

Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor

Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor

That list is only 1st year rookies, so doesn't include players who are eligible but have been on a list longer than 1 season. Current favourite is George Wardlaw and Oliver Dempsey is 2nd favourite. Windsor is paying $15! So maybe worth a punt, but I'd be surprised if Wardlaw doesn't win. The AFL will want North to have something! -
What a load of rubbish. This club has supported him and as long as he is continuing to be a good teammate on and off the field we will continue to, because that’s what strong clubs do.
-
Goody and the club really aren't getting enough credit for getting us into the frame for another finals run. We've had to deal with: - Constant Herald Sun articles questioning our culture and all the other stuff - Legal issues with the board and he who shall not be named - Angus Brayshaw our heart and sole leader retiring on the eve of the season - Joel Smith being unavailable for reasons we all know - Our best player in Trac coping a season ending injury and internal injury at that which adds extra stress I'm sure - Playing 10 players under 23 in our best 23 and still winning games
-
Agreed. Plus Jefferson may also come into contention from next year but I see him as more a third tall similar to Fritsch
-
I think he will eventually move back if he stays with us. If TMac wasn't in career best form he would probably have already moved back there....
-
May should be a good match up for him. I’d play McDonald on Amiss and then lever take the third tall/resting ruck
-
I think it was actually Lindsay Thomas who broke Gary Rohan’s leg, which brought in the rule

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Essendon VFL
DistrACTION Jackson replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Think I’ll trust Jason Taylor over Kozzyisalegend…. -
He’s a cracker! Another young gun to add to our list of young guns
-
It’s been well known that our forward line has been a mess… so while I agree our defence and midfield has been in the top 5, our forward half would probably have been mid table at best
-
100% this. Carlton - Cripps, Curnow, McKay, Wetering & Walsh Brisbane - Neale, Dunkley, Daniher, Andrew, Cameron Bulldogs - Bont, Libba, Naughton, Jamarra, English Pies - N Daicos, J Daicos, Moore, Pendlebury, Sidebottom Swans - Gulden, Warner, Heeney, Papley and up until this year Franklin Every side in the top 8-12 teams atm has genuine stars running around. It just takes a bit of luck and to get your game going at the right time to win a flag.
-
So who is Kynan Brown replacing in our side? He is a first year rookie and is nowhere near ready for AFL yet, given his slight frame. I was sad to see Bedford go, but to be honest Chandler is just a good a small forward as he is. The James Jordon one was unfortunate, as I think he would've stayed had Gus immediately retired before the trade period. I've got a feeling he will find himself as the sub or even out of the Swans team now that Mills and potentially PArker come back.

A mate of mine played golf with the Bombers president who said they are supremely confident of beating us this week.... which makes me happy because if they are drinking their own bathwater no doubt they will sheet the bed
-
We are definitely going to win now
-
Just on the bombers side, their defence is quite undersized with Laverde out. They’ve got McKay (202cm), Ridley (195cm but more a lever type player) and then Redman 187cm. I would definitely be looking to exploit that if I were the coaches.
