Yeah made sense for both him and us, young player who was an emergency for a grand final. Also good on the lions, who could’ve easily held him to that contract for additional depth but were happy to let him go… unlike a certain orange team

Tbf DD Tom may have already signed up given he was playing with them already and perhaps we haven’t lodged paperwork with the AFL yet. The only announcement has been tweets from journos which was then put into an article, not an offical statement.

They've announced that McAdam is out for the season today, which would've been part of the requirement to open a spot for Henderson. I imagine it will be announced by the club later today once paperwork is lodged.

I think the thought is he can play that high pressure small forward role. He played midfield at Werribee probably because at that level he is one of the better mids, however at AFL level I don't think that will be his go, other than some pinch hitting.

I think a high pressure small forward could lock in a spot in the best 23 in my mind. One of the most important roles in modern footy given the extreme team defences now deployed by the best sides.

Culley isn’t on the list yet PF and it may be Henderson lining up in a forward pocket….

Makes sense given a small forward is more of a pressing need than an inside mid

I think it’s assumed he will be out for the season. I think Achilles that require surgery are a 9-12 month return for a tendon rupture.
