I'd be all for picking up Adcock as a DFA. At worst he would be a good depth player as a small/medium defender. We've seen how much we struggled with our disposal coming out of defense once Salem went down so it's always good to have another good user.

I think the dream result this off season for us would be the following: FA: Dangerfield Trade Pick 5/6: Bennell Trade Pick 25ish: Lynch/Tomlinson Use later picks to upgrade VandenBerg and possibly draft Lovett as FS. Starting side next season assuming no one leaves: B: Jetta McDonald Dunn HB: Salem Frost Lumumba C: Vince Dangerfield Bennell HF: Watts Hogan Brayshaw F: Garlett Dawes Tomlinson/Lynch R: Gawn Jones Viney Int: Tyson VandenBerg Petracca Howe

Delistings/trades at end of the season

I'm glad the club doesn't leak like a sinking ship anymore but I wonder who we are targeting..... -

It was more tongue in cheek. Well I've heard Dangerfield, Henderson, Selwood so far. I hope we make a play for either Bennell or Motlop. -

Half of the AFL is off to Geelong. Not sure how they will get all the deals done in 3 weeks! -

You would delist Michie ahead of Bail? Madness. -

May want a change of scenery though. I'd definitely look at him as a UFA on a one year contract due to the drug scandal. -
Some serious questions asked about Paul Roos ...

I think this is also the reason some teams jump from near the bottom to the top 6. It's also why the year after they sometimes struggle to maintain it. -

Means my bender can start early! -
I wonder if we could get a package deal and include one of Mitch Grigg, Sam Kerridge or Matt Wright. All three are pretty good players who can never break into the senior side but are always in the best for the SANFL. I'd imagine on of them would be looking to leave for more opportunities and could come cheap.

He's a great 3rd tall who runs hard and kicks goals. I really could not understand why people on here were saying no to trading for him. Would easily be worth a 2nd round pick in this year's draft. He's also been unlucky with injuries over the years. Last year he copped a Viney hit which we all remember and also fractured his neck against Brisbane (not soft tissue injuries which is good).

It's all a learning curve. Next season we may try and different tactic and beat them. Or we may beat the Saints twice instead of the other way around. You have to take a macro view not a micro one. At the start of the season most of us said we expected between 6-8 wins. Beat Carlton next week and we are bang on where we expected. Beat GWS and we have doubled last season's win tally. Unfortunately we will see incremental improvements I think. I'm going to go early and say I predict 10-12 wins next season with the possibility of finals depending on injuries, fixture etc.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 20
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Though I don't think the umpiring wasn't the reason we got flogged, it definitely helped. Lachie Hunter twice ducked his head and got the high tackle called. The one where Dickson tackled Howe over the line was F'ing ridiculous. He literally tackled him, not even a full rotation and they pay it holding the ball. Disgraceful decision. -
POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 20

The over reaction on this site is hilarious, for both wins and losses. After we beat the Pies people talk about Jones as the best leader in the comp, how many flags we will win etc. Then we lose and suddenly Jones is not a leader, we need to de-list half the team and we will be finishing last forever. I view yesterdays game as a sh*t happens kind of day. They are challenging for top 4, we are just trying to see the season out. I imagine we have also set ourselves for this week as it's probably the last realistic game we can win, plus possibly the GWS game if they are out of the finals race. The Dogs yesterday reminded me of the day we flogged the Swans, everything went right for them and they just played with a super human confidence. I believe that as soon as they are removed from Etihad in the finals they will crumble anyway. -
I don't think anyone should ever question Jones' leadership. He has stuck with the club through all the crap years and has been our most consistent player. He is always going to have the odd bad game as every player does.

In a shallow draft year that would be a massive win. I think that is why the club is looking to trade out our picks to get good value.

Dees paying 4.65.... That's pretty juicy odds.$5.25 if you go between 1-39 points

In other news it was sad to hear of Brett Ratten's son being killed in a car accident last night. Has been a bad year for unexpected deaths in footy.

He was just on the channel 9 footy show this morning. When asked if he wants to stay at the Crows he said yes, with a sheepish look on his face. Seems he will likely be leaving at the end of the year.

I feel like they really set themselves for that game. Plus Daniher kicking 5 straight is unlikely to every happen again. He is one of the worst set shots I've ever seen!

If we can get Tomlinson for our 2nd rounder that would be a huge win. Long term replacement for Dawes, and likely to replace him straight away.... -
I agree. He was playing really well off half back and is one of our best distributors. I can see him playing the majority of his career behind the ball with stints in the middle and forward like Hodge. He is almost identical to Luke Hodge in the way he goes about it.
