  1. I get your emotion about it, but it wasn’t really skills that let us down. Disposal efficiency was 70% each and goal efficiency was 21% vs 19% for us. So I guess technically they were 2% more efficient going goal, but really it was a 50/50 game Unfortunately didn’t go our way.
  2. That’s pretty harsh… I think they will go to the tribunal with that one.
  3. I think 5-6 weeks
  4. I cannot stand the people messaging me saying ‘oh you guys tried so hard’ or ‘such a great effort’. No one sends that to Cats or Pies fans when they lose. We expect to win every game, that’s a poor loss in my mind. Only way to become a strong club.
  5. To everyone having a crack at JVR, he was on Taylor who had almost no impact on the game. Time to learn modern footy
  6. Instead of owning it he will just move to Freo….
  7. Looks like the rain will be clearing by bounce down which is nice. Might be some light rain to start, but should be gone pretty quickly
  8. Hopefully May is all good, but I’m confident TMac can do the job if he isn’t
  9. Which MFC listed players are playing KC? If you don’t mind me asking!
  10. I know we are wanting to implement a newish game plan scoring from the back half more, but don’t think this is necessarily the day you need to do that. Think it’s more of a territory type day given the weather…
  11. Healthy breakfast GW
  12. Just red…. Must be keeping is options open!
  13. That’s great to hear. Every good side needs 2-3 players like Henderson who are willing to do anything for the team and will work hard. I can see him cementing a spot as a small forward who also gets up the ground, a bit like Dylan Moore from the Hawks.
  14. You could argue that as the game went on the Bombers looked to be running the game out better. They are just an average football side, so couldn’t capitalise. We just need to ensure we go with the Giants in the first half and then I think we could overrun them.
  15. It actually blows my mind that the AFL brought in a whole new round as a way to compete with the NRL in the northern states, yet don't include pacific islander kids in NGAs. Surely getting more players from this group in the AFL would also help grow the game in traditionally rugby strong ethnicities. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised, the AFL seem to be run by very confused people.
  16. 100% agree. they’ve played in one grand final loss in their 30 year history. They’ve continually chased ‘big’ names from other clubs with the hope they will change their fortunes but very few have worked out. They have an inferiority complex because their ‘big brother’ in the West has continually been successful in that time. I actually think with the list they’ve got now it’s their best chance to actually win a flag… but then it wouldn’t surprise me if they self implode either.
  17. Pretty sure that’s the brother that spent time in jail….
  18. This is going to make the site crash Saturday afternoon....
  19. Fair point. I guess the players I think capable of that are Langdon, Sharp, Windsor, McVee, Pickett & Chandler. Maybe Billings to an extent but I think his strength is more endurance than speed, so that may be more prominent later in games. Personally if I had a choice I'd replace someone like Sparrow with another player like this, but we probably don't have them. Kolt could become that though as well.
  20. I guess there are different types of speed and how it is used. Oliver has incredible acceleration out of congestion, so while he may not have as high a top speed as others, he still has leg speed necessary for his role. Ditto to Rivers. A guy like Windsor or Kozzy have electric speed, acceleration and agility. Salem is one that surprised me, when watching a game they showed highest speeds and he quite often gets into the top 5. Maybe he is deceptively quick because he looks to be a smooth mover.
  21. I'm not so sure leg speed is as big an issue for us now as it was the last few years. Windsor, McVee, Bowey, Sharp, Langdon, Chandler, Pickett, Tholstrup & Lindsay all have decent wheels from what I've seen. Even guys like Salem, Oliver & Rivers, while not lightening quick have decent enough pace.
  22. 100% agree. We are way behind other clubs on this type of thing.
  23. I think a lot of signs point towards him coming to the Dees, not to mention: 1. His Dad is a legend of the club 2. Gold Coast have a lot of talls already locked in for the long term like Walter, King, Andrew, Read & Moyle. He definitely has a better chance with us to lock down a spot early. 3. The changes in free agency point allocations and also restrictions to number of players available if GC make the finals (big if), means that he would still have uncertainty if he picks the GC. They have 2 other highly touted academy players from my understanding.
  24. Great perspective PF. Billings will play an important role as a connector on the wing and we will all just have to accept he will miss some shots at goal.
  25. Surely someone has to go stand near their race with a dees jersey with Jackson tapped onto the back when they play here? Would be hilarious
