  1. I was about to write the same thing. We don't to limit our run. Melksham will also be playing predominantly fwd. For me, one of Hannan or Fritsch should miss. Hannan is fitter, better defensively so I would not play Fritsch even tough he has shown some nice glimses
  2. 'Fristchy Business' to snag 5 tonight Trac and Clarry to work into some form Saints will go in hard and it will be a good hit out for round 1. a kick in it til 3/4 time and then we'll kick away
  3. does the squad get trimmed down today? if not, why would we have more on the bench then for the first practice match? they usually trim it down in prep for round 1
  4. Like the idea of a late arvo kick off. Im getting too old to start drinking at 11am. A BBQ and crack the first can at 2pm works for me. or if im out, the game finishes at 7pm so prefect for kicking on
  5. Agree and its a pretty average team. I Don't rate their list management. this time last year people were saying they were locks for the 8 and some saying the top 4!
  6. so thinking positively for round 1, if we get no more injuries, it could be down to just AVB and Smith? I haven't heard anything worrying about Jeffy so I assume he will be right?
  7. Colin Silvia harley Bennell the obvious next step is Hird. Wtf is going on? It’s like people expect us to forget he is a drug cheat
  8. Maybe if there was some proof that helmets reduced concussions, you might consider it
  9. "one things for sure, Essendon will finish higher than last year" how the F is that certain? guess it is good if they are being over hyped. they already have longish term injuries to 3 players. if Merrett/Hurley or Daniher go down they are fooked man I hate the bombers
  10. I expect 200 other fines from the weekend then. WT actual F! contact centre!
  11. Does anyone else spit a bit of saliva out when they yell FRITSCH? apologies to the row in front in 2018
  12. B: J.Wagner 42, O.McDonald 28, J.Lewis 6 HB: J.Lever 8, M.Hibberd 14, B.Vince 23 C: J.Hunt 29, J.Harmes 4, B.Stretch 15 HF: C.Oliver 13, T.McDonald 25, N.Jones 2 F: C.Petracca 5, J.Hogan 1, M.Hannan 19 Foll: M.Gawn 11, J.Melksham 18, A.Neal-Bullen 30 I/C: D.Keilty 45, C.Salem 3, H.Balic 27, A.Brayshaw 10, T.Bugg 32, H.Petty 35, B.Fritsch 31, S.Frost 17, J.Kennedy Harris 24, C.Maynard 20, T.Smith 38, C.Pedersen 21 Notable absentees: Neville Jetta, Jack Viney, Dom Tyson remove 6 for Saturday (assuming MFC website correct): Smith, Keilty, Petty, JKH, Bugg, Balic remove 2 more for JLT 2 assuming squad of 22 - Frost, Maynard Round 1 - Jeff, Jetta, Viney and Tyson return out - Wagner, Fritsch, Stretch, Pederson?? Gees it is getting hard to pick a 22!! probably will have a couple injured/unavailable for round 1 you would assume though
  13. that feeling when your notable absentees are far from notable
  14. Is this coz we have so many quality tall forwards? wtf? play the bloke up front in his position. he is by far our best tall fwd. the odd run in the midfield is fine to mix it up but regular midfield time? dont get it
  15. The best Leadership group I can remember us having
  16. Duncan is the 'Ringo' of that group the two Sydney teams have far superior midfields to Geelong imo. Ablett will do well to play 12 games
  17. would you have them higher or lower? seems about fair to me. would have collingwood behind them though
  18. Would like to see him encouraged to take the next step even if not overly comfortable with the title as I think he would flourish further with T Mac up front, we need him to be a more vocal leader, organising the defence. even though Lever is down there and the oldies will help out off half back
  19. Man the commercialisation is horrible. Kicking a zooper?? Wtf. I know it's only aflx but how long until it's hogan with 2 Zoopers and 4 Pepsis. The afl selling out
  20. Any idea what the crowd is like?
  21. wonder why they are not playing this at Aami on the rectangler ground? round-ball football is played at Etihad it would be much better to watch and not many will be there so atmosphere would be better
  22. 20 player squad required for that Ex-AFL rubbish on friday so that would disrupt our chances of having an intra-club, you'd think
  23. When Danger and Selwood win it in the middle, they will shank it straight down lever's throat. Very unlikely they will all be fit for round one. Veterans tend to not train much in preseason so our youth will get the jump on them
  24. ive seen this come in a little in the AFL last year. Players eg Daniher rustling an opponents hair or jumping on their back after scoring a goal on them. you would think it is common decency to show a bit of respect but apparently not. if things like this continue, it should be looked at but you'd hope clubs handle it in house. surely we don't need a 'Dont be a [censored]' rule
  25. just over 3 weeks to go until our practice matches start and 7 weeks until Round 1 Can we get excited yet?!?! Im already there With only 2 hit outs before round 1 I would expect the best and fittest ~29 to play.
