  1. Thanks for the report Picket! regarding the above, are you saying the intensity was not great? if this is the case, this is most unsettling a week out from round 1 with spots up for grabs
  2. No doubt we have a mentally soft culture. when the chips are down or we are on the verge of something good, we generally fail. I want to see an angry team this year. I don't want people to 'like' Gawn, Viney, May, Lever, Clarry - I want them to respect and even fear them a bit. if I mess up, I'll get a bollocking. Every team does not need this for success but we certainly do. The A listers need to demand more, then the guys who coast like the 'Hunts' will naturally train harder, play harder, concentrate for longer. You need to be obsessed with success for it to come. I cannot disagree with Mark's comments.
  3. Injury list form yesterday PLAYER INJURY ESTIMATED RETURN Angus Brayshaw Foot Test Ben Brown Knee 4-6 weeks Michael Hibberd Ankle TBC Marty Hore Knee Season Jay Lockhart [censored] TBC Steven May Chest Test Jake Melksham Hamstring Test Aaron Nietschke Knee Season Christian Salem Hamstring Test Joel Smith Finger Test Jack Viney Foot 2 weeks Sam Weideman Leg 4-6 weeks So assuming May plays on the magic 12th day we will definately be without Viney, Weed, B Brown and likely Hibberd Brayshaw, Melksham, Salem will need to prove their fitness this weekend you'd imgaine
  4. Lucky we got Daw in. oh hang on, he's not fit
  5. certainly helps to trade in elite talent. Neale arguably the best mid in the comp. Cameron is the best small fwd in the comp and up there with the best forward, full stop. Daniher potentially will win a coleman this year
  6. Crazy to think we never tried him forward. He’s been picked up and first game, looks decent as fwd.
  7. It’s not really adventurous to tag a bloke in a practice game. I’m sure we were hoping Harmes might get some touch back but he didn’t play well, again.
  8. They were completely full strength. We had 8 first 18 out. We were always gonna get flogged. It should have been worst but our defence was solid. One game but I was not that impressed with Jordon. Or Bowey. Or sparrow. Hopefully Clarry never gets a proper injury or we are rooted. 51 less contested possessions. Says it all. im not gonna read too much into this game.
  9. So good to be back what number is Bowey?? gas hunt cut his hair??
  10. On my way to the pub for pre beers! cant wait to see Jordon, Bowey and Laurie especially. High hopes for Bowey in particular
  11. Massive game for Jordon. What he do in the middle against a top midfield. bowey and Laurie could make round 1 debuts with strong performances. Can’t wait to see the boys play!
  12. Love the upbeat commentary OD. It’s not glass half empty, the glass is completely empty. Or is there even a glass? not having a go, just joshin
  13. Fair point but Jetta has proved many wrong over his career and I reckon he could do it again.
  14. At home we should be too good. Their defence is just okay which is good as our fwd line is the same. Our defence beats their fwd line easily. They have a good young midfield but we have more mature quality. fyfe and Walters are the wildcards as if they both have days out we would be in trouble
  15. Good win but the Saints are not great. great to see Daisy play so well at CHF. Hanks is a beauty too still not in finals. Celebrate ladies but three much tougher games coming up
  16. I’m not usually an annoying pedantic person but the article can not infer anything, it can only imply. The inference is made by the individual reading it. sorry, had to get that off my chest carry on
  17. Agreed. In a list of performing in finals or most likely to win the norm smith - Martin would be number 1 for sure
  18. How overrated if Steele? one good year. just coz the saints have no other inside mids he gets it a lot. good player but Clarry eats him for breakfast. Steele being the Saints only player in the top 50 shows their lack of class/elite players. lots of average/good players, no great players And Simpkin in the top 50?
  19. it is not a list of who has been the better player. He didnt make the midfield in the AA team, arguably lucky to be in it. no comment on the drugs
  20. No doubt he won them the flag last year and was amazing in finals. He didn’t win their BnF and was very lucky to make AA imo so number 1 for the upcoming season is questionable imo
  21. this is prospective list as mentioned. but still having Danger at the top. Danger's best is definately past him. any team would take Trac over him for 2021, he is carrying injuries. Dusty can get up for big games but he can't play 20+ elite games anymore either
  22. Trac should be top 3. Gawn around 7th
  23. no elite 29yo at his peak with no injury concerns is signing only a 2 year extension. So we either offer a longer contract or risk losing the best ruck in the comp and one of the best Demons of the past 20-30 years. great decision. He will still be going strong at 32-33
  24. I meant off field obviously ?
  25. Well done Oscar. Two goals. 11 touches. 6 marks. Good night so far. he’ll be picked up for sure
