Preseason Training - Week commencing 6/11/17
Coq au vin replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
N Jones: “Now they've come back and hopefully that continues with the older group as they filter back in and we can put together a really strong pre-season and that drives us for season 2018." How about coming back in with shock and awe like superheroes and smashing the preseason after wimping out like dogs in the last game of 2017??? Filter my cigarette... -
Jack Trengove signed by Port Adelaide as a Delisted Free Agent
Coq au vin replied to dimmy's topic in Melbourne Demons
What will happen to the culture of the rabid, feral, bogan supporters of the south Australian filth with our two nice boys from Melbourne playing for them? -
How about this crap from the AFL website: under the heading of “The 24 must watch games of 2018”: Round one, Richmond v Carlton MCG, Thursday night “This looms as the biggest season opener Richmond and Carlton have faced off in since it became a traditional clash. The Tigers will unveil their flag to their faithful supporters, who will probably still be delirious. It will also be the first time the teams have played since Bachar Houli left Jed Lamb unconscious after collecting the Blue with his left forearm in round 14. “ WHAT??? The 2017 premiers vs a team that finished in the bottom 4?? How is this a must watch game?

The evening before Anzac Day is akin to a Friday evening game. People will go because they have the next day off work.

We need another good ruck man and a fast midfielder who can kick straight. Gawn is injury prone. Even if he wasn’t or miraculously remains injury free he needs someone to relieve him during games for a rest. Hopefully these are also part of “the agenda.”

This is what’s wrong with Demons supporters. A player who DIDN’T give his all on field, who was lazy, didn’t do what the coaches asked of him, didn’t tackle properly and had high end talents that he wasted time and again is a favorite son who will be welcomed back with open arms. I’m going to spew.

We dropped our bundle that day emotionally. We beat them earlier in the year when we were playing the frenetic, numbers around the ball style that caused us to beat Adelaide too. (Plus a bit of Jack Watts magic). I expect us to finish around 12th next year unless a harder culture can be instilled in this mentally weak team.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
Coq au vin replied to ignition.'s topic in Melbourne Demons
There were lots of tunnel balls this year in different games. Lots of throws too. Nobody commented much. -
B$. They’re hopeless and are unlikely to improve under their poor coach. More of the same.

OMG I hope you don’t mean Jacko? Mark Jacko Jackson?
-
I doubt that anyone on here has a clue about this topic.

Wiedeman has been next to useless and there’s still a big question mark over Brayshaw with respect to concussion issues.
-
The trading period saw us take up one decent player for the loss of some high draft picks and one other dodgy player with issues. How is this ‘looking for the winning formula’ ?

And the forward line.

How many premierships have the swans won with buddy? Zero. How many parked cars did he run into? Who pulled out of the finals last year because of ‘mental health issues’? Too much money. Spoiled the brat. Spoiled the culture at the club.

They’ll eat him alive over there.

No. It’s because he has a contract with the Melbourne Football Club. That’s why we have to pay him. Like we paid Travis Johnstone to play for the bears.
-
He needs to go for the hard work option or he’ll be remembered poorly.
-
He had a very good 2016 and the first half of 2017 before injury. The Collingwood QB game was a highlight of his career and the Dees’ last 11-15 years. I think he should stay, commit and progress. I’ll be disappointed if he goes to the bodies in the barrels area just because he had a few beers.
