Roos' trust in the playing group and vice versa
JackVineyForPresident replied to wisedog's topic in Melbourne Demons
best post and thread i've seen on demonland -
I actually cannot express how much i love this guy. I absolutely love watching the way Dom goes about his footy. I will be surprised if at some point Dom isnt an elite AFL player. Also, i love the fact he's doing all of this. Making the Tyson and Salem trade even sweeter at the moment. I hope the critics start talking about how good Tyson is and promising Salem is.. rather than endlessly talking about Kelly. Dom in his 3rd year is as good as anyone.

DAWESYYYYYYYY
-
Also, Salem makes me smile
-
If Watts keeps this up, ill be damned. this is all i want from him
-
Thomas smiling last night was certainly because of banter, surely. Not because of the result.. Smiling does not equate to happiness, that's what sheets me about the media
-
Christian Salem is no more less or no more impressive than Jordie Gysberts in the beginning. I'm just as excited as anyone about this kid, just trying to personally keep a lid on it, will be tough.. For those of you who will say he's tougher than Gysberts you're probably right, but Gysberts was impressive in other ways, so im not directly comparing them

I'd actually rather Watts up forward. He doesnt work hard enough for midifeld. He was also quite good in the second half of last year as a forward
-
Bernie is a demon, he acknowledges that and definitely plays his part in on/off field as demon. But he is also a crow still and was for a very long time He is a genuine guy and come Saturday will be a demon

Players to target at the end of the year
JackVineyForPresident replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am just not sure what to do with getting a forward. Do we go mature age? GWS? or draft? -
Nic Nat criticisms starting to build

Roos says Watts the problem?
JackVineyForPresident replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes yes, but it had already been included above. I completely agree.. He's been able to really harness players so far. Believe me, there's more coming -
Jesse Hogan Injury Update?

Roos says Watts the problem?
JackVineyForPresident replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
Despite agreeing with you on everything else you said i have a major issue with this. Nathan Jones has taken his game to new heights. Chris Dawes is playing as good as he ever has. Tom Mcdonald is absolutely killing it. Viney is making normal progress and just getting better each minute that passes. Lastly, Grimes is playing very very well this year and i am seeing him improve each week. Plenty to be praising there. With Toumpas, Viney, Tyson , Salem, Hogan and hopefully Trengove to come through, the future looks bright -
Jesse Hogan Injury Update?
JackVineyForPresident replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I will be happy to see him out there round 1 2015. Hopefully alongside either a new recruit or a mid age KPP. Along with Dawes, Kent, JKH, KPP (New) and Howe -
Roos says Watts the problem?
JackVineyForPresident replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
I do agree with the principle, but not entirely. There are other desperate players on our list who want to make it in AFL who would probably deserve the chance over Watts recent lack of effort. I am sure there are Melbourne listed players working their asses off to make the team, yet we are supposed to "cut Watts some slack" -
Roos says Watts the problem?
JackVineyForPresident replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think the thing that really frustrates everyone on here and the AFL world is that Watts has the potential to become one of the games best players. Most players and number one draft picks even dont have that potential. I really believe that also, he has more talent in his left finger than most people i have ever seen. Nathan Jones has shown what talent, dedication and hard work can produce. You can too Jack -
Not like these boys
-
The reason is because Toumpas is 20 and just finding his feet at an elite level. Roos putting Toumpas is not about not being good enough, it's about developing key areas that Roos does not feel are at a high enough level yet. Yet, he will be a gun (i hope) and i think Roos knows that. It is in his best interests to play Toumpas to the point of dominating the VFL, because that will bring him into the AFL raring to go
-
Salem and Tyson will both be elite IMO. Kelly wil also be elite. 2 elites vs 1 elite? we did very well out of this trade
-
There are ways to handle players when they are down on form. Jack Watts probably wont get dropped, but i dont know what the answer is. He needs to find a spark, something to get him going. But i doubt Roos will drop him just yet. Jeremy Howe will not get dropped, Roos has moved him around a little bit and i reckon hell find him a position and tell him to play that role. Also, he took a couple really good marks, which usually ignites his confidence. I am confident Jeremy will come back and play some really good football. Neither is going to get dropped, whether that's right or wrong is another story. But i just cant Roosy doing it

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - ROUND 6
JackVineyForPresident replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6. Nathan Jones (i am just getting more impressed with this guy, each game he plays) 5. Matt Jones (best i've ever seen him play) 4. Lynden Dunn (Proving to be a real asset) 3. Bernie Vince (loving the 28 kicks) 2. Tom Mcdonald (solid all night) 1. Cam Pederson (best game as a demon) -
Changes for Round 7 vs Adelaide
JackVineyForPresident replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd love to see some of Riley, Blease and Clisby.. It'd be great to see some or one of them -
Melbourne have about 4 players whose possessions are gold, whether you like the player or not. If N Jones, Watts, Dunn and Viney were to get over 80 possessions combined each game, then we'd be standing in fantastic stead. Cross and Tyson both have question marks in my opinion over their possession. Tyson is improving but turns the ball over a little bit too much. Vince is also fantastic, but i wont include him in that group above.

My 3 word player analysis V The Swans
JackVineyForPresident replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Apart from the Richmond NAB cup game, i thought this was Kennedy-Harris's best game. He worked his way into the game nicely. Vince was brilliant last night, also best game for the club. N Jones was not well held, he is uncontrollable. It was just a tough game. Should be right in contention for brownlow votes Viney was great again, improving every match. Watts was horrible, another bloody step back
