  1. Surely you jest Cannot find my source at the moment but 11,000 injections upto 40 players So the players were to get almost 300 injections each of various substances and nobody keep records! I am not saying this of you but only a simpleton would accept the no records were kept lie. Here is a short list of the drugs allegedly given to the players from the 34 page Notice of Charges (page 24-25): actovegin unspecified amino acids unspecified multi-vitamins AOD-9604 creams AOD-9604 injections cerebrolysin colostrum REDACTED (it’s blanked out in the charge list) lactaway lube-all-plus melatonin melanotan II TA-65 thymosin beta 4 traumeel tribulus And what, nobody keep any records of who took what. Get real. It is a massive cover up by Essendon. Check out the articles on. https://theconversation.com/topics/essendon
  2. I concur. No thinking person believes that Essendon kept no records of the injection program. It is a palpable lie. They had records and destroyed them. This is dishonest and shows no duty of care to players potential future health problems. No company in Australia would get away with this level of deceit and corruption without serious charges. Please take the time to read.the Notice of Charge 1.6 http://www.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL%20Tenant/AFL/Files/EssendonFC-notice-of-charges.pdf The redacted items would curl your hair or in JH's case put a little too much lead in his pencil. Essendon must have more pain to come.
  3. As an aside, the case for the COLA that Sydney clubs get is weakened by the similarity in cost of living announced today between Sydney and Melbourne. http://www.theage.com.au/business/the-economy/sydney-melbourne-more-expensive-than-new-york-says-living-index-20140305-3466w.html According to the data there is a 1.7% difference in costs between Syd & Melb the 5th & 6th most expensive cities in the world. So if the cap is approx $9.5 million 40 players = approx $4000 each. I think they get a lot more than that. Should Adelaide & Perth(cheaper cities ) get less? Of coarse not. One cap for all. These players get enough.
  4. The only real stat that matters is the scoreboard! (Stating the obvious) The excitement about "the possession count" is that it is a positive marker. In the past we seemed to only lead in turnovers and clangers. When you take the Roos style melded with our list "the possession game" is an obvious way to "improve our percentage over 50%" It is a step, to the greater plan, more possessions, better disposal, greater score, winning, premiership. "A journey of a thousand miles began with a single step." 1904 Saying of Lao Tzu
  5. Do you remember a skinny bespectacled kid called Robert Flower? He could play, if Watts could develop like he did i for one would take that any day.
  6. That is my understanding too. So effectively they are WADA penalties not the AFL's but the AFL carries them out or else. Sorry I took the short cut with "The AFL would have no say in penalty". Perhaps I should have said " the AFL would have little say in the penalties"
  7. Thanks for the clarification, has any sporting body not adopted the penalties? Then what?
  8. As I said earlier, WADA knowledge. 1 year ban. A fill in team for 1 year. It is possible. The AFL would have no say in penalty. Woof is right. Does that mean that Richmond can finish 8th again? This is rumour not fact 360 Robbo.
  9. Believe it, I BELIEVE IT! If we have it they don't. Did you see StKilda play GWS, they were [censored] and GWS finished last. Our inside 50 count was poor as you say, not enough big forwards to kick too. Remember, missing Garland, Frawley Dawes, Clark a decent ruckman, You take FB CHB FF CHF & ruck from any side see how they perform, we were magnificent because we had a plan and we stuck to it, yes we over possessed but at least we had the pill.
  10. Melbourne was ranked No. 1 for disposals and time in possession over the NAB Challenge pre-season series, according to Champion Data. Yes it says Melbourne, that's us. Carry that into round 1 and look out Saints.
  11. "Oh the humanity...." Herbert Morrison commenting on the Hindenburg disaster. Or Dennis Commetti at Melbourne's round 1 performances recently.
  12. Robbo does love the game, he can be quite passionate about it. Unfortunately he is more like a hammer than a scalpel. Watching him on 360 is akin to watching an Orangutan play guitar. Sometimes he gets the right note. I do admire " I got that one wrong" however he should check facts from multiple sources, too much to expect from an Orangutan.
  13. Getting close to the pointy end. Loose lips and all that. Can you feel it? Go deees! I'm excited.
  14. The thing about skeptics is they claim to be never wrong. It is a low risk position.( I don't believe the world is round unless you prove it to me.) Once proven they jump on board like a zealot. Go out on a limb master, what do you think not what do you know. It can be liberating.
  15. I agree?? I think. Is this a forum? What do we do on forums? Did I suggest that I agreed with the views? It was light hearted gossip, who would think that you might find that on a fan forum?
  16. Was that before Jim Morrison?
  17. And that was the problem with Magner 268 touches 143 kicks to the opposition 122 handballs to players ankles or over their heads & 3 out of bound on the full.
  18. I prefaced the fluff with (I don't believe it) The penalty on the club was a WADA penalty as it was suggested to me. The AFL would have to comply. Hence the Tassie beat up story to fill the Essendon gap.
  19. Remaining Essendon players plus 1 50 + game player from each of the other clubs. Remember Ted Fidge? I would offer Byrnes. NOTE:-This is pure speculation.
  20. No app required, I have this wiz bang thing that does it, it's called a remote control. You hit the button and capow, Robbo is gone and your watching the cricket! Astonishing, then bam and your back, how good is that. She (who must be obeyed) tells me that a function exists to mute idiots I caught her trying it on me last night. I am trying to work out how to turn it off/on?
  21. I heard (I don't believe it) that Essendon will be banned from the AFL competition for 1 year. It was speculated that a composite team from Tasmania would take their place. I think this fanciful but he did have a compelling argument and some WADA knowledge. WOW!
  22. Did anyone notice who Roos was talking to at the Fox party? Michael Voss. Could he be a possible candidate for Roos successor? We could do worse, with a few years under Roos I think Voss could be a great coach. He had a bad start at Brisbane and never really recovered, but I think he was actually OK as a coach at the end.
  23. Over the years one from time to time knows the truth of a story. eg. When the hill opposite you is on fire and the media congratulates the firies for putting it out. When in reality it is still burning and being heli bombed for three days after it was put out. I have been in the position of knowing that facts several times. ON EVERY OCCASION THE MEDIA INCORRECTLY REPORTED THE FACTS. Every time. I have discussed this with several friends whose experiences are similar. My more mature outlook is that I believe very little of what I read and nothing that is said on TV (it is a light box for the display of sport- sound down please - commentators are worse that journos) Yes I may be jaded but I am not disappointed. If the Essendon facts ever come out I will only be reading official reports, if any, and they will not tell the whole truth, but the truth to the extent that they can display it without recourse to legal action. The reality is that usually the real truth is so juicy that it would probably even shock me.
