Extracts from the ASADA site "Your responsibility - Under the World Anti-Doping Code strict liability principle, athletes are ultimately responsible for any substance found in their body, regardless of how it got there. Ignorance will not be an accepted excuse. " http://www.asada.gov.au/rules_and_violations/8_rule_violations.html There are eight ways in which an athlete or support person can breach the Code, or commit an Anti-Doping Rule Violation. 2. Use or attempted use by an athlete of a prohibited substance or prohibited method. 6. Possession of prohibited substances and prohibited methods. 7. Trafficking or attempted trafficking in any prohibited substance or prohibited method. 8. Administration or attempted administration to any athlete in-competition of any prohibited method or prohibited substance, or administration or attempted administration to any athlete out-of-competition of any prohibited method or any prohibited substance that is prohibited out-of-competition, or assisting, encouraging, aiding, abetting, covering up or any other type of complicity involving an Anti-Doping Rule Violation or any attempted Anti-Doping Rule Violation. " Number 8 is a doozy. or any attempted Anti-Doping Rule Violation . Where are the records EFC? Where are the records Dank? Guilty, guilty, guilty. -

Extracts from http://www.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL%20Tenant/AFL/Files/EssendonFC-notice-of-charges.pdf "The AFL charges Conduct unbecoming or likely to prejudice the interests or reputation of the Australian Football League or to bring the game of football into disrepute" 19. On 5 August 2011 Hird was interviewed by an officer of ASADA and an officer of the AFL Integrity Unit in relation to his recent informal inquiry of an ASADA representative as to whether any AFL clubs were using peptides. During that meeting Hird was informed by the AFL’s Manager Integrity Services that peptides were a serious risk to the integrity of the AFL, in the same category as steroids and HGH and implored Hird to report to the AFL if he came across any information relating to peptides. Corcoran and Hamilton were both present at the meeting. 32. Dank was offered the role, commencing on 4 November 2011. The usual human resources processes for the employment of Dank were not followed. No background checks were conducted with his former employers. Little, if any, consideration was given to his outside business interests and the conflicts that may thereby arise. 45. Hird was aware that, to his knowledge, Robinson took no record of the details of the provision of the substance to Hird. 46. Following his self-administration of injections of Melanotan II Hird suffered REDACTED side effects. REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED. 47. REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED. 48. Notwithstanding his first-hand experience of the unsatisfactory manner in which Robinson supplied substances to be injected at the Club, including the fact that he had suffered side effects about which he had not been warned, Hird did not recognise or respond to the indication that the supplements program potentially posed a risk to the players’ health, welfare and safety. 55. In the period between 13 January 2012 and 15 January 2012 Reid expressed his concern to Hird and to Hamilton that players had been getting injections of a peptide that he knew nothing about while the players and he had been told that they were getting vitamins and amino acids. 67. On 8 February 2012, at a meeting of players of the Club, Dank introduced four substances that were purportedly approved for use in accordance with the Protocol, namely: (a) AOD-9604; (b) Thymosin; © Colostrum; and (d) Tribulus. 68. Following that meeting, 38 players at the Club signed “Patient Information/Informed Consent” forms in relation to these four substances. In relation to these substances, those 38 players agreed to: (a) one AOD-9604 injection per week for the season; (b) one Thymosin injection once a week for six weeks and then one injection per month; © two Colostrum daily in each training week and two colostrum post-game. The dose may vary according to training needs; and (d) one Tribulus forte daily in each training week and one Tribulus prior to the game. The dose may vary according to training needs. 69. If the dosages the subject of the “Patient Information/Informed Consent” forms were administered, the playing group would receive in the order of: (a) more than 1,500 injections of AOD-9064 and Thymosin; and (b) more than 16,500 doses of Colostrum; and © more than 8,000 doses of Tribulus. " The redacted side effect refers to Hird suffering from priapism. The earlier copy I read was not redacted. The highlights are mine. Spin it how you like Hird has to go. -

Sorry OD, I am a bit jumpy when taking about the Hirds, I see conspiracy everywhere. But to your point, I believe that the Hirds are aiming for a payout. The Missus is a solicitor and I really don't think she would do the interview without a plan. And the most logical plan / outcome as a result of her interview is dismissal / payout. There really is no point in blaming AD for a tip off and bullying, how does that help their argument? It does not and can not help, it is a distraction. Really only five scenarios 1 If the Hirds are right the EFC are still guilty but AD gets some grief. AD will not go down without an almighty fight and in fall out Hird gets sack/payout. 2 If the Hirds are wrong EFC are still guilty and Hird gets the sack/payout. 3 The EFC go limp and give in to Hird , the Hirds continue mouthing off until AFL EFC crack it..sack/payout. 4 The EFC go limp and give in to Hird--He shuts up, she shuts up story over ...pigs might fly. 5 She is a solicitor and speaks without thinking, he is a coward and doesn't tell her to recant. Sack/payout. Cannot see any other outcome. Sack/payout. You know it might be worth it to rid the AFL of them. -

I understand what you're saying. But if we start to join the dots. Go back to James Hirds (& not coincidentally Shane Woewodins) personal conditioning advisor Biochemist Shane Charter in their Brownlow years(Hird 1996) The very same guy at Geelongs Premiership & Melbourne Storm Premiership. The same guy supplying Dank peptides +++ Remember "we are playing Carlton get me the good stuff". Surprise meetings poolside. There are so many dots you really don't need to join them. Hird has been a cheat for a long time. Whatever it takes. If we think Occams razor, you would probably argue that it is simpler that it is a screw up, I think that too coincidental. The connections point to planned cheating. You tend not to incompetently, stupidly screw up and win Brownlows and Premierships and just happen to meet poolside etc. etc. It is illogical that screw ups keep happening with winning a consequence. It is simper to believe in cheating. -

That is my reading of the situation too. We are witnessing an organised, planned distraction. These people are not fools, they are dishonest narcissistic self righteous cheats. Make no mistake they are focused on getting the best outcome for the Hirds and they obviously don't care about anyone else. The EFC the players, AD the AFL, David Evans , Little can all go to hell so long as they get the big payout. This is true evil at work, and we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg. -
Stating the obvious really no tall no small and the mid sized forwards were not good. So incompetent forward structure. Next week Gawn in, Blease in Viney in. Out Pedo, Byrne, and give JKH a rest.
-
I noticed Howe limping in the first quarter, I thought he would go off, but then Tommy Mac went off, then Fitzy was concussed, Frawley was proppy. What do you do? We ran out of options. Still I would have put Dunn forward & Pedo back.
-
Exactly. Nicnat overrated one trick pony. Does 1 or 2 spectacular things each game but that is all. Nicanat 8 disposals & 3 clangars v Jack Watts 27 & 1 clangar. I have always rated Jack and now is the time to prove us right in picking him no1.
-
Sitting in my brothers Ford Anglia listening to the radio. I was 7. He was at the match aged 16. He became a turncoat and now barracks for Adelaide.
-
I don't think there is far enough back for Pedo to play. Gawn forward, Dunn forward Trenners forward. Try Howe back
-
Perhaps we could bundle Pedo, Jamar and Byrnes with a set of steak knives for a late round pick in the rookie draft. If not a pick maybe for some paper clips and a some old glad wrap, it would be more useful..
-
I am happy with Roos game plan, but considering our injuries before & during the game I was surprised that Dunn didn't go forward, he can kick a few. I think Dunn, Trenners and JKH forward may have helped. What do you think? Pedo could run drinks, with help.
-
Are you serious? Can't mark, can't kick, can't read the play. What contract? Or is the contract you want to offer, for Casey 2nds? No, I would prefer a player that can play. He had 4 effective disposals in 4 quarters of football. One contested mark, no goals and was our key forward for 4 quarters. On a positive note he kicked 3 points only bettered by Bernie Vince.
-
On a positive note. We lost to the wooden spoon favorite and yet we are better than last year. Currently 11th

Melbourne - No forking forwards

If ASADA told him and he told EFC, that is a criminal offence. If he assumed it was EFC and told them, not a criminal offence. -

I for one do not care if Andrew D warned the EFC, providing he had not heard it was EFC from ASADA. I do not care if the AFL act as bullies to protect the image/brand of the AFL And I couldn't care less about the whingeing Hirds and their tarnished reputations. (self harm) I do care about the players and workplace safety. I care about the health of the players. I care about the game, MFC our players and supporters. I think we brought the game into disrepute and copped our medicine. We were not the only ones but we have copped our whack and we move on. Essendon.................what a mess. Can EFC just sack Hird, ASADA penalise the players and then we can get on with the competition. I do not want another season wrecked by the Essendon Drug Fiasco. -

So do we really care what someones wife overheard when their husband was talking on the phone about what someone else said? This is hearsay, in fact double hearsay. Hearsay. "unverified, unofficial information gained or acquired from another and not part of one's direct knowledge" -

And that is some form of defence? Andrew told us to fess up. So now we are not guilty right? If AD said anything it was to help EFC, now the Hirds s41t in their faces. They have no scruples the Hirds. Sack him and move on.
