Dunn has under delivered on his talent for years. We tend to forget, this week he delivered. Pick 15 2004 a pretty good draft Delidio Roughhead Griffin Franklin. To me he is an honest toiler with some good skills. But you cannot compare him to someone like Watts who has sublime talent but rarely displays it. Don't get me wrong, give me a team with 5 Nathan Jones anyday, he always gives 100% never plays a bad game and leads by example, his talent is mid range but guts and determination unmatched, he does the absolute best with his talent. Viney is developing the same way, love him. From what I've seen of Hogan he will also deliver. In an ideal world you put Nathan Jones head on Jack Watt's body and stand back.

I don't think Trenners is in the top 5 for talent perhaps in top 8. And certainly is not delivering on his talent.
-
What a luxury to have the two of them O'Dwyer & Stynes. It is possible that two of Spencer, Fitzpatrick and Gawn could be a dominant ruck combo in years to come, they all have some wonderful attributes and are still young.
-
The premise was most talented. These two have talent in abundance. Most experts had them in top 3 midfielders in their respective draft years.Whether either will ever deliver on that talent is any ones guess. I suspect both will make it.

If you add Howe to the most talented five who do you omit? My most talented list. Watts - Salem -Toumpas -Tyson - Hogan
-
An observation, these players are not pretty to watch or highly skilled. By and large they are hard working grafters. If you had to list our most talented 5 players I don't think any of these 12 would be on it. It would be nice to see our most talented players take the step up. Edit: My most talented. Watts - Salem -Toumpas -Tyson - Hogan

Spencer reminds me of Strawberry O'Dwyer. A fair bit of mongrel about him. When fit Strawbs was a better ruckman than Jimmy Stynes IMO. I love Spencers second & third efforts. It would be nice to have some help from Gawn with Gawn playing deep forward when Spencer in the ruck. If not Gawn same role with Fitzy if he gets his mojo back. Spencer to rest on the bench.

6. N. Jones - Give him the car, now 5. Frawley - Great effort , made easier by having Dawes in side. 4. Viney - Love him he's a tank. 3. Spencer - Never would have believed it, second efforts and mongrel. 2. Grimes - Hard at it never gives in. 1. Dawes - The sculptor, we have shape

Unattrubuted quotes, I love them. HC Bailey? 70 points is no miracle it is fantasy. ManDee 2014

It's better than what I murmured when I read your prediction. We haven't kicked 70 points yet this season. Come Saturday afternoon I hope you can contentedly snigger derision in my general direction, but in the meantime are you mad? Win by 70 bah humbug.
-
I just coughed up some pork crackling. Surely you jest?
-
Fairly simple I would have thought. Wins.

Funny that in Jordie's case disposal sounds appropriate to describe his kicks and handballs Perhaps we should have a stat called delivery. Disposals being ineffective, delivery effective. Or effective delivery or ineffective disposal but no total count unless we use possessions 38 made up of 20 effective 18 ineffective. Just thinking out loud.

A chance to recognise a different type of courage...

To get back on topic. Mitch Clark and the club are to be admired for the handling of this situation. It would appear that both have acted admirably with respect for all parties evident. It is not a sign of weakness to care, nor is it a sign of weakness to admit to an illness. I am proud to be a member of a club that tackles societies issues maturely and carefully. Go Dees! -
I hope Jordie lays some absolute ripper tackles on Robinson, a few bruises perhaps. The entire side should make a point of slam tackling Robinson.

We can only presume through irrational argument and outrageous statements that some people are idiots, they are self defining. There is no point in arguing with idiots We can disagree with idiots, but to expect rational argument or personal growth from them is pointless. They are idiots, and that is self limiting. The alternative is that they are trolls. Trolls are worse than idiots because they intentionally provoke looking for an angry response. Do not feed a troll. So I suggest we do not respond to trolls or idiots, in the hope that they go away. The italics are an edit. idiots plural OK singular censored? -

Ditto. Don't feed trolls. Edit: The problem when arguing with idiots is that they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience. --- Mark Twain -
We could try italics. As in. You are a goose SFKA. See no offence. That is not to suggest improper acts with a goose.

Damn, I hate it when someone steals your advantage. We have had more clangers than them. And they kill us for clearances they're 5th we are 18th.
-
Wet game, that means a slippery ball, lots of fumbles, bad kicking , misplaced handballs, turnovers, sounds like us every week. So because we are used to it we should have an advantage! Our players are so used to trying to cover up shite disposal that we will look in our element and blitz Carlton. That is my dream and I'm sticking with it, at least until late Saturday arvo.

Hey TGR let's move on, you probably picked the wrong word and I am a pedantic protuberance. -

Empathy and Sympathy Writers often confuse empathy and sympathy. These two words are similar in meaning, but they are not the same. If you use the wrong one, you will either change the meaning of your sentence or be spotted as someone who doesn't know the difference. EmpathyThe noun empathy denotes the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. This ability usually derives from having shared the same, or a similar, experience. For example, you can have empathy for a poor person if you are, or were, poor. More examples: I have empathy for your problem. I've been there. Empathy is at the heart of the actor's art. (Meryl Streep) The great gift of human beings is that we have the power of empathy. (also Meryl Streep) Friendship is a living thing that lasts only as long as it is nourished with kindness, empathy and understanding. (anon) The corresponding verb is to empathize: I can empathize with you. I've been there. He will empathize with you. He managed the same department for ten years. SympathyThe noun sympathy denotes feelings of pity and sorrow for someone else's misfortune. For example: You have my utmost sympathy. You trained like a demon for that race. I would like to extend my sympathy to your son. I'm very sorry to hear of the death of his goldfish. The corresponding verb is to sympathize: The vicar will sympathize with you. She knows how hard you trained. (There is no suggestion the vicar has trained hard herself (that would be empathize not sympathize). As a result, the preposition with does not feel right with to sympathize because sympathizing usually means you haven't experienced the bad event yourself. With seems a better fit for empathize. However, it is used with both verbs.) Sympathy is not always about feelings of pity and sorrow. It can also mean to understand or to agree with. It carries a connotation of not full support. For example: It's hard not to have sympathy with their claims. It's clear from her inaction that she sympathizes with their cause.
