  1. You are right. After round 1 when Newton once again could not make an honest attack on the ball, DB clearly decided he only wanted committed and focussed footballers in the side. And wasn't Neitz starring in those early rounds while Newton was knocking down the door of selection to get back in. There is no reason why you could not have played both together especially as Neitz was terrible in those rounds. No its definitely lessen..more than I thought.
  2. He injured his knee around Round 5. He was already dropped to the VFL and struggling before he hurt his knee at training. BTW, the word is lesson but in this case lessen may be apt.
  3. Stynes was well ahead of White without a doubt.
  4. Geeks like Nasher ( B) ) with have a more technical answer but to do it you need to open two windows within your internet browser the Demonland and reply to one thread and cut and paste that quote into the second screen where you reply to another thread. Its clunky but works. NQR is correct. meh is an expression of disregard where you indignant turn your nose up and say sarcastically "yeah right".
  5. Relax..its a Murdoch publication where facts are not critical. :D I still think Ch 10 "Sports Tonight" takes the prize when Collingwood was re negotiating Nathan Buckley's contract about 10 years ago. Tim Webster headline that Nathan Buckley had resigned from Collingwood in a shock decision. 45 minutes into the program Tim Webster had to announce a correction that Nathan Buckley had re-signed with Collingwood for a further 3 years!
  6. Worst case of pot calling kettle black I have seen. You either get it or you dont...you clearly dont. Oh well..no loss.
  7. Well then its established. Its true and you have provided all the bona fides we need to ensure its cast iron true. Honestly I do wonder why people post such content free "inside info" posts thinking it provides some form of integrity or validity when it does nothing of the sort.
  8. Hmmm! After having seen Newton over the past 3 to 4 years I have observed the talents on show spasmodically and I have seen the questionable atttitude that goes with it. Newton was pick 30something in 2004 where CAC suggested that he could be something or he could be nothing. Wide spread but seemingly close to the mark. He had a great opportunity this year to be the one up forward. And he drifts in Sandy 2nds. Weetra was pick 66 in the 2005 draft and what you would call a punt. Injured last year but has struggled to make any impact. Cant see why we picked him early on. But I dont think he has it and will be cut at seasons end.
  9. If Lynden Dunn can win a final off his own boot like Nick Davis I will cut him some slack. No player can afford not to commit to the physical requirements.
  10. Do you want to name a few? And when it comes to a choice between September success (hopefully at a GF) and B'low I know what I would take every time. And it aint a Brownlow Name them? Teams dont have to be on the same level. Each player just has to go when its his turn....simple. And its not an experience thing. Its an attitude and a choice the player makes. He should have solved it by now at 21. He has shown a propensity to do it over his 3 years in the senior side.
  11. Correct. Edit: High Tower- If you see my set shots your question is answered. I extended the answer to think who would I want with the last scoring kick in a game. Hradly challenging but there you go.
  12. You do make a good apologist even if you lack substance. If you are going to call someone else's opinion harsh you want to substantiate why it is harsh. You havent and been shown to be light on the fizz. You are entitled to your opinion but I will remember not to place much weight on it. So a player who played 10 AFL games in the AFL last year was "impressive" is now wallowing in Sandy 2nds for past three weeks and you find positives. Are you sure you are not Juice's mum? :D Dont worry if you cant fathom it, I understand completely.
  13. It will take a good kick from Sandy 2nds to do it. Green, Robbo from a set shot. Davey or Wona on the run.
  14. He was cherry ripe round 1. We have had 13 rounds this year and he is in Sandy 2nds for the past 3 weeks with a poor report card for his past week. He played capably in the last 10 rounds of 2007. Either you're his Mum or you have not got a clue about Newton. I cant fathom why you would then refer to another poster's valid assessment as harsh. Strange.
  15. Its clear after his performance against Hawthorn that the Coaching dont rate him. Injuries aside he has played 3 full weeks in Sandy 2nds and has not dominated where his ability would suggest that he is head and shoulders above that standard. Over the past 3 years when he has been blocked by Sautner et al in the Sandy 1s, he used to routinely put on performances for spectators at TBO. His attitude is no where near where it should be. Been a big disappointment.
  16. Not all season. He has been a real disappointment. Gets dropped from the AFL after an insipid display and then gets suspended and then injured. With MFC struggling up forward, the world was Newton's oyster and he is languishing in Sandy 2nds. Here is the coaches report on him from last week: Michael had nine possessions, but didn’t play as well as he did in his last two games, where he displayed a lot more energy and attacked the ball much harder. Having said that, he still competed hard on a wet and windy day, and presented well at the ball. Another positive to come out of Michael’s performance was his defensive pressure, which will continue to be a focus for him As in past years he should be tearing the Sandy 2nds apart with his ability. He is not interested at all in football and it shows. Huge disappointment by any measure.
  17. We are leaving the AFL and will compete in the IPL 20/20 competition in 2009 as the Delhi Demons.
  18. Correct Nasher particularly the comment about the need to iron issues out yesterday.
  19. Different regime now than two years ago.
  20. He has had six years in the system, Surely the Footy department have seen enough of him during that time to make a valid assessment both at MFC and Sandy. The fact that many think he is our best tap ruckman illustrates the hole we are in with our rucks. However, if they pick him there is no use leaving him on the bench. We know what we get from White these days.
  21. 1. McLean. 2. Green 3. Bruce 4. Jones 5. Raffle it. Smokie to move up the ranks and surprise......Garland if fitness and form holds.
  22. And as a bonus you get PSD #1 which gives you first access to the best potential ready talent that falls out with a Club and is uncontracted. Yes. We need to finish last.
  23. No. With pick #1 you take the best available player regardless of position. Try and wait to your 4th or 5th pick to get a no 50 pick ruckman around pick 50.
  24. On the positive side LD's game was pretty good notwithstanding the contentious issues. Yze was poor against the Tigers and his events of fumbling and avoiding contact were the most notable part of his performance. Yze was rightly demoted and its been 4 years overdue for accountability for those issues. Its notable Yze was neither here nor there against Sandy on the weekend
