  1. As expected. No idea. Is the current complication linked to the broken leg or is this linkage speculation in absence of fact and the current injury is something different. Either way its a setback for the kid. How you could possibly think that missing 2 years of footy now is not important? Beggars belief.
  2. MFC are starved of first good inside first dibs players. The numbers dont measure the impact of his decision making and use of the ball and the fact he does go missing in games when MFC are under the pump. Maybe I should have more clearly defined heavy traffic. Good points and I see those as a problem still alhtough not as bad as before. However against Carlton, he did it a couple of times straight to the opposition. I dont think he is that competent by hand. Moloney lack pace as well You make a valid point that he will soon be usurped by Scully and co. As a conseuqence I am not sure where Beamer will be fit into our side in 2 to 3 years. I am not sure there is alot of improvement for Moloney while I see quicker, more skillful players squeezing him out. And so they might. However I really doubt the Club and Junior will continue another year. I think Junior is astute enough to know that at his age in the fast pace of the AFL the end comes quickly without consideration of the player. I think Adelaide have persevered too long with McLeod, Edwards and Burton and are now paying the price. Grewt players in their peak but the AFL is savage these days at exposing players quickly. I think this will be Junior last year of a great underrated career.
  3. Given the amount of football Blease has missed and the potential lack of fitness, he will only be playing at Casey in round 14 and may have to build his fitness with a couple of 2 quarter matches. He would really have to perform at Casey to be AFL ready by Round 22.
  4. The decisions of players and umpire are made in split seconds and the clash of guernseys provides complications for all participants. Players and umpires have commented before on this. If the clash guernsey issue was such a huge merchandising bonanza why is it that some clubs who would seemingly benefit most from it so reluctant to change. Everyone would prefer to wear their own strip. Sorry, the counter argument does not work as your argument focusses on the fact they dont have muddy grounds not on the pace of the game. The game was slower then with only one field umpire and slower movement of the ball. And why was the Mothers Day an issue?? Hmmmm. Because the clash of colours caused confusion for players and clearly frustration for spectators. MFC's Mother's Day guernsey was the MFC jumper with pink yoke and blue shorts. The umpires attire was all pink shirt and blue shorts. One team was in predominantly blue and the other predominantly pink. It was still enough of a clash to cause due concern. This is the exact reason why inverting the MFC jumper with the blue yoke will still clashes with the Carlton strip.
  5. As has been told to you a number of times.... the pace of the game has increased dramatically in the past 20,10, 5 years. Its get even quicker in the past 3 years. Players have less time to react with the ball, in a contest. There are more bodies at every contested situation. I would have thought the test case of the Mothers Day round against the Dogs would amply demonstrate the problem of even close matching of colours. And in fact here are some passages from the Adrian Anderson thread where you were upset over the clash of colours with the umpires. And whether its the umpires or the teams clashing the problem is the same as you clearly admit to. The clash of colours confused the players and clearly upset supporters like you. Your position in this thread is hypocritical to melodrama you carried on with in another thread. You really are a wind bag of hot air with no thoughtful or consistent position on matters. When it comes to being conned, I know exactly where you are in the queue.
  6. Conversely nothing changes better skilled players handle the ball better than less skilled players whether it is wet or dry. The gap still remains even though the conditions to play in have deteriorate Ummm....lets think about that one.
  7. Never said it did. I dont think Beamer could focus his endeavour or passion more than he does. Its just his output partcularly in heavy traffic that concerns me.
  8. No we havent. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/afl-injury-list/story-e6frf9jf-1225877166099 We lost WCE game for other reasons not that some would fathom.
  9. No it didnt. It just put Petterd's development behind.
  10. Do you deliberately misrepresent another persons point of view in the vain belief it makes your position more plausible or are you just....? I and others have answered the reason for a clash guernsey on another thread on clash jumpers when you couldn't work out why there was a clash. Go fetch.
  11. Ah no. Even if he actually did bleed red and blue. Like his spirit and his passion. I question his output and decision making under pressure.
  12. It was Carlton's home game...... While there is navy blue in both jumpers then the scope for a clash I didnt need you to prove you dont follow another point of view but thanks anyway Not in this case. Rah rah stomp stomp. I'll huff and I'll puff.... B)
  13. Rah rah. Stomp stomp. Your posts are all thunder signifying nothing. You dont understand clash guernseys and the inverted jumper would look awful and provide a clash against Carlton because of the existence of the navy blue.
  14. You were being unrealistic. THe younger bodies will have good games and they will have bad games. There will be ups and there will be downs. I would be excited by every game we play as the quality on our lists gets that bit of extra experience they will need to be good football for 22 rounds and 4 weeks in September.
  15. PJ - no chance unless there are injuries. Cant ruck and cant play forward. The other three are better chances. Dunn would be a certainty to play.
  16. I hope it doesn't. You on the record as saying you cant recognise any clashes of guernseys in even when you see them on B&W TV. You would have been better off complaining that we clashed with the seagulls at the ground. I saw two people wearing that abomination of a predominately silver jumper. The white is miles better than that.
  17. Or does Bailey not have the experienced match hardened cattle to do the job. And give up on expecting anything meaty at press conference. A good coach is trained to bat back the questions with cliches and generalisations.
  18. FFS, if MFC relied on the views of the supporter base there would never be one brave sensible decision which should some forthought and vision. The same sample of the supporter base would still be just as confused if we won a flag how we did it. And Williams ...courage and confidence... Turn it up. If it wasnt for his current contract ridiculously arranged by the Port Board, he would have been out of Alberton long ago. He is dead man walking. If anything the Port Board appointed Laidley. Williams is running a dysfunctional outfit who up down performances are a disgrace. The on field behaviour of senior players like Motlop and Chad Cornes is appalling. He is well past his use by date and the Port club cant wait for his contract to expire. They cant afford to pay him out.
  19. Do you promise? I would refute your argument but you havent constructed one. A perfect case of self steaming sizzle and no sausage. I'd give 2 ughs for your posts. You clearly went to alot of trouble and I can see that. I dont know why you champion Dunn over Miller. They are both ordinary. Miller is out of contract this year and will probably be shown the door. If Dunn cant make something of this chance then he should be close behind. It might have slipped your fetid mind that will all the problems MFC have had up forward, Dunn after a complete pre season cant crack a regular game. Pick 15 in 2004, 23, 59 games, six years in the system and an absolute fringe player. He either makes a mark for himself or proves the gap between AFL and VFL is widening.
  20. He has had an interrupted pre season (again) which will definitely impact his endurance.
  21. No Petterd is very much in development. This year marks another injury blighted year for him. He has only played 35 games so far and still has plenty to learn. His future may not be the forwardline. But I would not be reading too much into Schwab's inadvertent omission of him.
  22. Yes. We need a game plan to suit a style where we are being physically monstered by the opposition and under relentless pressure and the players cant cope with it. Come on Dean! Seriously if ever there is a lesson in this for the players its certainly being missed here.
  23. I think its a mix of learning where to run on the lead and the trying to make the bezt of some appalling delivery inside 50
