Don't agree and think this is becoming an excuse up there with interrupted pre-season. Watch the bulldogs today they have 8 or so teenagers but don't appear to know that they should be all over he shop. If a player is picked they are should be up to the task. No excuses. We should have won today. The dons had 10 of their first 22 out. It was a third rate side and we lost. No sugar coating "inability to win" and " fear of favoritism" etc is sheer drivel.

Just got home from Casey. It was colder than a witches t*t. Fortunately the bacon rolls were warming. Great finish to a game impacted by the wind. Casey back line was great. Just wish Turlich would take the first option. Loved Harmes' game and Jamar's. Bleeding cold though and will need two bottles of red to warm up.

I agree. There seems to be one criteria for some and another for the rest. I wonder what effect it has on their confidence when they get recalled. As others have said they need to be given a few games in a row instead of being yoyo'd in and out. But that's why I am not a selector. Its interesting that Hogans Heroes says stats are irrelevant yet they are often quoted as to why players should be dropped. I actually agree that stats are not the be all and end all as they can be made to say anything. There are lies, lies and dammed statistics.

I think we will be more competitive than is generally thought on here. Not really just feeding my delusion. Great story hope your missus recovers. My brother teaches one of the coaches kids and the club sent out 6 players to their school a couple of weeks ago. The school is pretty affluent and get a fair few players from different teams visiting. My brother said that the MFC players were easily the best, Jack particularly, that they have had. Just went with the kids and took everything thrown at them (as 10 year olds will.) He has decided to not bother with other teams and only going with Demons (and Dogs) as they are superb with kids and do not treat it as a chore. This from a Magpie supporter and player sponsor. I love hearing the community side of the players and reckon more should be reported (all team players). These are young men and I would be proud of any of them if they were my son.

Another shocker? Seriously he played 21 minutes last week and yes had no bearing on the game. But he was the only person who went spare in defense last week after Howe put us in front, until Cross came on at the last ball up and told him to get out. The blokes on 360 pointed this out and questioned why Cross did that. At least he has a footy brain. He has every right to lack confidence given he gets 1 game on and 1 game off. I hope he says naff it all and goes into the forward line a few times this week instead of being the defender mid field. He' has done it at Casey and it showcased his ability. I personally would play him permanent HBF. Might be slow but has an excellent footy brain.

This and many other posts that are on this page is what is wrong with this forum. Too many people ready to pot all and sundry and not realise that we were very competitive with a team at our level and as much by bad luck as bad play we lost tonight. Hogan playing on becomes a goal and we win, The ball bounces to us in the dying seconds instead of taking a warnie type turn we win. I am not bothering to check in for a while. It is sad. I read a few other forums and quite honestly this is often the worst. I reckon some on here would eat their own. I am sure glad I don't work for you. Players have good and bad days. How many of you can say you are perfect at your job all day every day? Yet that's the expectation on here.

Michie played 29% of the game. Yes made two clangers BUT was one of only two that I could make out that went down back after we hit the front. Against Richmond he was gushed over, has not really put a foot wrong in his games except today. He is still one of our best disposers.

Hogan does not need help and would have crushed the dud on him but it was great to see a first gamer standing up.

Silver lining Toumpas' game was terrific. Hogan and Brayshaw were real quality and Bernie, despite some brain fades was at it all day. But 40 seconds....
