  1. If we persist with Fritta as the key target one out inside 50, we will lose a lot of games. That killed us against west coast. It is NOT his role.
  2. He not only won his own footy against the Cats, but he smashed Selwood and stuck it right up him. I love that stuff and so should our coach. Right the wrong Goodwin.
  3. I tell you our next biggest problem, potentially worth its own thread, the playing of James Harmes as a defender. Watching the 2018 SF against Geelong this morning on Fox. He is a gun midfielder. Gets forward and kicks goals too. It is a criminal act to be playing him back. It will NOT work. He is an attacking player. You see how lost he is trying to find an opponent on transition. Another of Goody's dumb experiments that has potential to suck all the confidence out of one of our most improved players.
  4. There is space to expand the oval size at Goach’s paddock. It’s not earmarked as green space, so get a few trees cut down and move the footpath. Expand the oval size. Sounds like a far cheaper and more realistic option given the current financial pressures on the league and clubs
  5. He can't kick the goals for them. He can structure the side to provide opportunities. We had those and the execution failed us.
  6. Totally agree Ron. Mitch Brown did little to improve our forward line. TMac was lost at sea again. Too many mids blowing opportunities to goal. It is definitely an area on which we need to improve. It's the same problem we have had for the last few years.
  7. To be honest, we had our chances in the first 11 minutes and probably dominated play. We allowed them 5 goals in 4.5 minutes. I’ve rewatched the rd 1 game and while I concede we made some errors, wasting our scoring opportunities was what hurt the most. The game was fairly even in general play
  8. Just heard some clown from either Sportsbet or some other agency on SEN say that they opened their future markets today and Melbourne have firmed as the favourites to take out this year’s wooden spoon. Interesting. He cited the fact that GC would play a host of games up there has seen Melbourne move into the spoon favourite spot. if we finish bottom, compromised year or not, surely Goodwin hands in his contract and resigns. We have no excuses. No injuries. He has rebuilt the team as he wanted and in my opinion destroyed a lot of Roos’ good work. Let’s hope this is not a prediction of what is to come
  9. Here is the legit Korean baseball article i was referring to: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asia/south-korea-opens-pro-baseball-season-amid-covid-19-pandemic-12704906
  10. Ten thousand tickets at 100 dollars a piece won't cover it? It'd be a lottery for members. It's being looked at already. Yes, it is a revenue raiser, but the game needs to make money. If you were offered the opportunity to pay 100 dollars to attend one match this year, would you do it? I know I would. Some may not and that's fine. I can understand that everyone is in a different boat. The other proposal I have heard is that members can nominate to enter a lottery, pay a 20 registration fee and then hope to be drawn out. It would easily be enough to cover the cost of hosting the game. Even if you get 50% of members nominating, in terms of our club, that is $20,000 paying $20 to register interest. For the Tiges, that's 50,000 paying $20. Staff at the ground would be paid as casuals. Most likely costing $120 for each staff member.
  11. Having a crowd of 10k at a stadium is no different to having people flock to Bunnings or Kmart. MCG with ten thousand people, all socially distancing. You could essentially have an entire row to yourself. It isn't fanciful and I expect this is what will have before the season's end. There will be no food or drink sold. They will not open bars. You will have designated arrival times and most likely have to wear a mask. They will make you santise your hands before and after bathroom use. I really don't see what would be so wrong with it.
  12. That’s certainly not the team I saw hahah. They did however use avatar like cardboard humans that looked like Japanese manga characters
  13. Saw something on Channel News Asia, a Singaporean news station today, about a Taiwanese baseball team who have resumed playing without crowds. They had introduced artificial crowd noise and it was impressive. They actually had their fans send in chant videos and played them on the screen at key moments in play. No reason the AFL couldn’t do something similar. Given that people can gather in houses with up to 5 others, I’d expect there will be a few footy gathering happening and it might just have some merit. Whether they should play crowd sounds throughout play is another matter.
  14. If the comment was substantially true, then a good lawyer would have got them all off, but I accept your point. Rather than picking on typos though, maybe just concede that you had no idea what you were talking about and were ranting about criminality, while not understanding the law of defamation at all. You cited slander and libel, both American terms. That's all.
  15. Why was he back in a Melbourne? Apparently this took place in stonnington. I thought he chose Geelong as he wanted to be back living on the surf coast, away from Melbourne.
  16. Yep...if only people knew the real story behind this. Hard to tell when one party plays the ‘mental health card’ and then leaves. On a side note, Geelong deserve criticism for their handling of the recruitment of Clark.
  17. Yeah but you are totally off to say the board risked criminal records. I’m sorry, you don’t know what you are talking about. I understand Smith may have been out of line, but your assertion that he and the board could have been criminally responsible shows a lack of knowledge of the legal system in this country. I just don’t know where you were coming from with that comment
  18. Why was slander and libel a criminal act in 1965? Victoria has laws for defamation, a civil action, so not sure what you mean by criminal records being handed out. Can you elaborate?
  19. Asked him who the family supports? I went to school with his kids, I can assure you they don't follow Melbourne as a family.
  20. Double the scoring shots and twice as many inside 50s in the 2nd quarter for a 21 point lead. Sounds bloody familiar. Should have been 10 goals up
  21. Hard to keep up with all the names posted here, but one I was reminded of the other day:- Glen Molloy He looked like the type of bloke you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark alley.
  22. Paul Callery views himself as a Saints supporter and his family are all Saints. Like a lot of ex-demons, feels no attachment to us.
  23. A group of players who all had lockers next to each other and regarded themselves as the elite of the group. A boys club. selective of who they let in..I think that was the gist of the infamous Hollywood Blvd. G Lyon was the leader.
  24. Presuming these are all on VHS? I’d love someone to upload all of 1988 H and A on YouTube. I watched the 1994 finals series today. We were on fire and had a lot of injuries. Schwartz getting knocked out in the final minutes against Footscray was a real shame. If we’d had a consistent side that series, I think we would have gone all the way. Going over West was a tough ask
