I'd argue that Essendon are pretty awful at developing kids as well, as I follow them pretty closely due to EFC-family members. They have all the resources in the world, so it certainly throws an interesting twist to the rich vs poor debate. It's defintely a personnel issue imo, not just about how much money you can throw at the issue.

Player development of defenders has been really good for the MFC since 08 and I attribute some of that to young players being around quality players and leaders like Jared. His position in our B&F says he had a good year - which he did. No need to complicate it. His disposal is much better than T Macs, he is much smarter than Sellar, and he is more reliable than Frawley imo (more consistent output - I know they play different roles). Would rather keep a great third man up' than lose one.

That's a massive loss. I love Riv and don't begrudge him any success he gets with a better team. Any other rumours Redleg? You seem to have your ear to the ground.
