I really want to win this game. We are a better side than the bulldogs and last time we played was super fustrating we lost. A win tomorrow an we wil jump to 12th on the ladder only a game behind Adelaide & west coast..A loss and we can drop to 16th with results going the way they should. Big game for us!

Yeah I agree.. With griffen and cooney out libba is there match winner, if jones can nullify him it'll go a long way to winning the game. Also I know libba leads the AFL in tackles but I reckon on the spread Jones could expose him. As I said Picken will go to jones anyway so maybe best way to free jones up is him to go to libba
-
I wouldn't be surprised if we saw N.Jones go to Libba.. We saw earlier in the year jones go to murphy & ablett. I don't think we have much choice, if Barry or Nicholson came in I couldn't see them going with Libba in and around the contest, his a bull. I think jones is he only logically match up, likes it in tough and maybe that would break Pickens tag and then he can try and get Libba going the other way.

Viv and blease must be doing something wrong, I get the sense from the VFL reports it might be there defensive side but gee we lose 2 mids and bring in 3 defenders, a ruckmen and a kid. Not sure I'm all that happy with the inclusions but if players like Michie and blease have parts of there game that need working on, it's for the best they are forced to change or keep playing 2s

To be honest I don't care anymore, if that dog wants to bail out for more money than cya later pal, we don't need or want players that aren't committed to the cause. 12 months ago I was worried about him leaving but seeing the emergence of Dunn and too an extent Mcdonald (if we can fix his decision making/disposal) plus Col down there we'll be right. Frawley has average skills at best and his decision making isnt great either. Roos leaving him forward has been a master stroke in that our back 6 can gel without him, so when he does go it isn't such a huge loss. As previous posters have said Hogan will slot straight into Chips spot in the forward line. I'd love for Roos to give Frawley the ass in the latter part of the year when Hogans right to go...

The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014
JV7 replied to alpha33's topic in Melbourne Demons
Don't think he did ... He played 7 VFL games and 13 AFL games add 2 VFL byes and there's 22 week season. He said when he signed at the dees his never had many injuries so he thinks he can get atleast 2 years out of his body -
The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014

Big blow with cross.. Probably the first time his been injured on his whole career! -
Yeah fair point. My judgments of him are probably clouded... Played my junior career with him and he gave up footy and played basketball because he was no good at footy. Still cant believe he ever got drafted.

Michie is a lock for Mckenzie IMO.. Blease for Salem would be my other change
-
He ain't playing firsts because his no good. I'm wondering which part of his 8 touches, 1 mark and 1 goal 1 behind on the weekend, impressed you so much ?
-
To be fair to casey, they did lose a lot of good vfl footballers then add into it the likes of manger, couch, Davis and hogan from last year. Most of the MFC listed players are young kids learning the ropes, hence casey last qrt fade outs each week. I'd love a stand alone VFL side, it just makes sense. Plus playing every 2nd week out at the cold and windswept casey fields wouldn't be ideal for the players

Please... This thread is embarrassing

No change.. Don't see what Terlich would bring if he came in for Riley, unless we moved grimes into the midfield and Terlich back otherwise there's no spot for Terlich and Grimes is a lot better down back anyway.. Salem the sub again.
-
I've said it in the previous Frawley thread.. What does he get out of signing at melbourne right now ? Apart from stopping the speculation. He can wait till seasons end and say "well club A is offering me this, what can you do ? " if he signed with us now he could be dudding himself 100-150k less. For all we know he's just trying to drag out an extra 100k out of us. I don't see why he would sign now serves no benefit to him whatsoever.
-
Can't say I noticed him not chasing anyone so can't question you on that. He was in the top 10 a few weeks back for pressure acts in the comp( number 1 at the dees) up until that point in time. Think he has enough credits in the bank so far this year to be given the benefit of the doubt on one bad game. No doubt in my mind he'll be playing this week
-
Reckon it's time michie got another crack. Has put together 3-4 good weeks in the 2s and you see when players are made to earn there spot with consistent good form ala Kent last night they can come in and have an impact. And people calling for Bail to be dropped is ridiculous, he didn't have a big night in possession terms but his forward pressure is enormous in roosys game plan, no way he"ll be dropped. IN: Michie OUT: Riley
-
6. Dunn 5. N. Jones 4. Viney 3. Mckenzie 2. Kent 1. Grimes

Really excited for today's game. A big chance to jump up the ladder to 13th or a loss will see us drop down behind GWS to 16th, not huge in the context of things but a win like this just gets the club a bit of reward for effort to go to 13th on the ladder n jump up above the doggies & Richmond!!! C'mon dees

Think the problem for terlich might have been we have Jetta, Dunn, Garland, McDonald, Grimes & Howe, there isn't really a spot for him down back. I think we are, as we have done gone with another mid. Provides a bit more run and another rotation through the middle!
-
Mckenzie, Riley, Kent, Salem final bench. IN: Mckenzie, Riley, Kent OUT: Gawn, Terlich, JKH
-
I think it just means that they will have a case to answer
-
Essendon players finally have been issued show cause notices from ASADA.. Surely this has to help our cause on Sunday, would have to be distracting for the players.
-
Would think on the back of 6 day break Salem will almost certainly be rested. JKH maybe not seeing he was the sub. I think zaharakis is there most damaging mid after Watson, is a goal-kicker which makes him a bit more dangerous then Heppell but not sure if cross would be able to match zakas pace... IN: Kent, Riley OUT: Salem, Gawn BTW it's round 13 not 12 as the title thread says

6. Dunn 5. Vince 4. N. Jones 3. Pedersen 2. Cross (beat beames) 1. Jetta

I'd love to think we can do a Port Adelaide and turn things around within 2 years but I don't think that's going to happen. So you don't want to take an 18 year old and wait for him to develope but you'll wait on toumpas/Salem ? No difference. And I'm talking about our ball use out of defence, that's why I would like toumpas tried off half back. Yes there is always a risk in the draft of taking players who's strengths won't hold up to AFL but if you don't draft players because they MIGHT not make it then your kidding yourself. The club should back themselves to be able to develope them well enough once they draft them.
