Gary Pert on SEN (6/12/21)
I know Pert said he hopes by the start of next year we'll be further down the track with the AFL and State Government re: permanent home, but he also said he'd seen the designs and it looked wonderful and would be worth the wait (7:50 minute mark of the interview). Definitely seems like things are moving.

Ha anyone received their premier's beanie yet? Just working out if I send the club a hurry up email

Tonight’s Draft - The Second Crack
Traded 51 for St Kildas 2022 round 4 pick. Clearly happy to just match the bid for Woey
-
Tonight’s Draft - The Second Crack
DeeSpencer pointed out it's because we were trying to trade 36 and 39, which we'd traded with Adelaide in the trade period. Can't retrade the same picks to the same team
-
Tonight’s Draft - The Second Crack
The whole 'can't trade multiple future picks' is to stop a team trading their future away. Not sure how the AFL thought that was an issue with us

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
Wasn't Rivers struck down with Glandular fever also? Maybe that's our recruiting theme, rather than competitiveness.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
34 goals in 9 games, apparently. But not many at WAFL level.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
Yep, we have Thommo as well who showed he plays very well as a key back. With may, lever, petty, Thommo and Turner, we are stocked for current and project backs.

2019 Draft Re-Ranked
Going to suggest Fake Footy do a 2021 re-draft before the actual draft takes place. How you can meaningfully re-rank a draft after 12 months, as Fox Footy have done, is beyond me.

Merch/Memorabilia
Oh, I like this. I like this very much. On the merch front, I ordered the premier's Guernsey, Mark Knight stubby holder and Premier's beanie. Was told they'd all be shipped together in Dec because of the Guernsey pre-order. Saw others had received their Guernsey, sent an email and was told the beanie was delayed but they'd send out the others. Currently somewhere in the great AusPost black hole but I'm sure it'll arrive

Sliding Doors - Alternative 2021 MFC Premiership Team
Smith, Peak Jurrah and fit Clarke only ones who maybe get in to our side. And even then it's line ball. Others are yuck

Yep, I emailed them yesterday after not hearing anything. Was told 'Sorry, I'll push your order to our warehouse'. Seems the guernseys are in stock but unless people follow up the order is just sitting there. I was also told the beanies are delayed but due in next week, which was also holding up the order.

Jeff Kennett Steps Down
Yep, FoxFooty reporting Hawthorn were projecting 15,000 members may not renew, costing them at least 1.5mil. This may help somewhat

Throwing away the whistle on GF day.
If we're complaining about the JJ non-free, we should also be complaining about the Scache non-free when Brayshaw collected him in the back. Swings and roundabouts. Though the GF was pretty well officiated.

Dees Set for Prime Time in 2022
Its the same situation as last year, when Collingwood played Dogs on Friday night. So we don't play a team off a 5 day break so early in the year, I presume. We'll get 6 and they get 7. Can't play Tigers as we play them round 6. Other option is dogs play them, but we are due more prime time games.

The Grand Final Rematch
Assuming if it's at the G, it'll be one of our home games. In which case, surely the club would rather pull 80k than have a low drawing interstate team and have 60k.
-
The Grand Final Rematch
This could equally happen if we or the dogs fall off a cliff to start next year. We will both get a harder draw next year based on where we finished. I reckon have a big game first round. The players won't be worried about facing a good team round 1 and supporters shouldn't worry if we lose the first one. We are past that now

2021 Player Reviews: #11 Max Gawn
His flexibility and ability below his knees for a big fella is elite and has noticebly improved over the last few years. I wonder how much effect Pilates have played in this improvement? Maybe he can open a Pilates studio for ruckman with his wife (who is a Pilates instructor) when he retires.

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
Any chance Josh Sinn will drop this far? Saw an article about him sliding due to injuries and covid lock down. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl/on-the-slide-from-top-five-sinn-could-be-an-afl-draft-bargain-20211017-p590o3.html

Apparently Aus Post are cutting down on the scanning they do. Had a bottle of MFC 78° gin sit at 'Ready for processing' for a week and a half and was sure they had smashed it. Then went straight to 'On board for delivery'.

Also, if you've pre-ordered anything you may not receive the rest of the order til that's ready to go. Ordered a beanie and stubby holder in addition to the premier's guernsey and all will ship together in mid-December.

Who takes the number 2
Agree that he's worthy but hes currently locker mates with Gawny, don't think he'd want to change that to Mayzie and Salem. Don't mind the idea of Rivers. Keep the backline together.

A team mate's assessments
I wouldn't rule out TMac. They might have some differences but I'm pretty sure he's sung BBB's praises before. And he would be in a good position to have seen Trac's development.
