I'm confused. I thought it was announced in April/May. Didn't Naitanui already win it? B)
-
Did you happen to notice it was a bit windy today?
-
Has this been happening? Have kids been taken to our games every week? Haven't heard anything about the results. No puff pieces on the website. Anyone seen these kids?

I think most would agree that it's a great emblem. Some people just love to nitpick.

Don't think Rioli played in round 1. Or Franklin. Or Burgoyne. And a couple of other important players. Didn't help us too much. It is their game-plan and structure that has killed us in the past. We haven't been able to get through their defensive zone setup. If we have worked this out since last we met, we might have a chance. But if our ball use is poor, it wouldn't matter if 5 more players were missing, we'd still lose because they are a disciplined and well-structured mob. It will be VERY interesting to see how far our ball use and confidence to take on their zone has progressed since R1.

I find it rather strange that foxtel are broadcasting Fremantle training on a Sunday evening. Odd.

Just to throw up a smokey from the VFL, James Lawton from Coburg. 197cm forward who can take a speccie and kick freakish goals. Very agile. Improving each week. Only 18 or 19y.o. From a small town in Country NSW and has come down to try his luck in the VFL. Started the year in the 2's, but is now performing very well in the senior team. With a bit more muscle on his frame I reckon this boy is well worth a shot. Probably as a rookie selection.

Frawley has had an excellent season. He is nowhere near All Australian selection. He has absolutely no chance of making it considering the form Lake is in. They don't pick 2 full backs. They don't even put one in the back pocket. There are too many good smalls to include in the side. Those guys are more noticeable. He needs to do what he's doing now and more for 2-3 more years to make it as an AA full back. And it needs to be in a better team. J Mac was never even close this year. He's a midfielder. Try fitting him in to an AA team with Judd, Ablett, Goddard, Swan et al. You'll find it an impossible exercise. Green is a REMOTE possibility... IF they don't decide to put the midfielders they can't fit in the midfield into the forward line. He will not make it as a midfielder, so his best chance is HFF/FP and that could be the domain of the 5th/6th - 10th midfielders. Our best chance is Jamar IF they choose to pick a 2nd ruck on the bench, which again is not a given as there will be many midfielders who would be stiff to miss out on AA and they may just opt to squeeze them all onto the bench. So in short, I would still not be surprised to see zero Demons as All Australians and would be surprised to see more than 1. This is not pessimism. This is realism. We are a lowly team that does not attract too much viewer attention. Many people (probably including the AA selectors) don't really watch our games. 16 other clubs have players they think are in AA form. There are 22 spots. There are numerous bona fide stars of the competition. Our boys are not yet amongst them. My slim hopes for an AA nominee are with Jamar as a 2nd ruckman named on the bench.

How would we do that?

Do Collingwood EVER get any more than 2 or 3 injuries at a time?

More a Demon than Pickett.

We are a laughing stock today on a stand alone Sunday game. Pathetic.
-
We are embarrassing. Wooden spoon a REAL possibility.

Your thoughts Freak?
-
He does kick helicopters, but he is not unreliable. A bit like Sticks Kernahan. His kicks often look wobbly but seem to find their way through. However he does have a pretty high ball-drop which makes it difficult on windy days especially.
-
Freak, give us a source please. I can't accept your "I have it on good authority". I have had many things on "good authority". I would never post any of them unless I was willing to substantiate my post. If you have something reliable then let us know. Otherwise you are just sh%# stirring and that is very annoying. Do that somewhere else.

If we lose this week we are a huge chance of nabbing another wooden spoon.

But to sell his soul for Wales?
-
Absolutely nothing. Not worthy of a spot in the side. In particular his game against Carlton was deplorable. He kicked 5 goals 4 weeks ago and people think that makes him immune from being dropped. It was not one of those really impressive 5 goal hauls. I used to love his workrate. Still do. He tries very hard. But he should not be playing senior football because he is not good enough to play the role expected of him and will not (or should not) be on the list next year.
-
How can anyone say this game is not important? If the boys have any ambition, they will all be aiming for finals. Whether or not any of us believe finals is a possibility this year (I personally don't think we can make it) is irrelevant. These guys play football professionally. Whilst there is hope of making the finals, every single one of the players will see this as a must-win game to stay in touch with the top 8. If they don't, they have no pride. A win gives them a lot of confidence and impetus going into the 2nd half of the season. A loss is deflating and could affect the way they go about their footy for the remainder of 2010.
-
Meesen is on the rookie list. So he is irrelevant in terms of delistings.
-
The optimism is not fading. The timeline has not changed. We are still another season away from finals. 2012 at earliest in my opinion. If we fluked it into finals next year it would be a bonus.

How many times has Brad Miller kicked 3? He has 130 games (87 goals) to his name (according to MFC website) and still gets selected. Newton 23 games, 30 goals. Not saying Newton should be selected. Just saying that others have been given more time to how how useless they are as a KPF. So "Can I propose bans or some other kind of sanction for ever, ever suggesting (insert Brad Miller into Inner Demon's quote" - post 117) EVER should be selected in our senior team??"

Sorry mate, didn't see. Point well made then. Carry on
