  1. How can anyone be anything but positive about Vineys game today? I am flabbergasted that you found a way to be negative on this. Even Cross, "disappointingly our best". What the hell does that mean? Why disappointingly? And people question how Roos could call supporters negative...
  2. Gee whiz, ive been drifting away from demonland a lot over the past few months, can't handle the total rubbish that is bandied about on here. Roosy gets ripped in to about negativity but you read through even the first two pages of this thread (which is all I could bear to read) and how can you possibly deny it. I saw great effort in that first quarter today, unfortunate drop off in the first 10 of the second quarter and a excellent commitment to get back in to the game thereafter. But so many people on here want to find other reasons for the levels final half... "They went in to cruise control". Just ridiculous, can't even pay credit where it's due for your old team. It's hard watching at times, but all I ever ask for going in to the game is effort, and I'll be happy. I didn't watch yesterday's game on x2, I enjoyed large parts of it.
  3. Wow, I didn't know bomberblitz existed so went and checked it out... they are totally deluded. Early candidate for deluded comment of the month: "He's gone. Let's show the respect he is due as a club champion and a completely honourable man. Let's do that and move on. "
  4. Buckley's chance of seeing Hunt.. though am very excited about what this kid might offer. IN: Grimes, Michie/Toumpas OUT: Stretch, ANB Sub: Brayshaw
  5. I don't think I've ever seen as big a smile as the one on Harmes' face in his interview with Burgs!! Rapt for the kid, real dream come true kind of stuff. Go get em son!
  6. Holy smokes Kali.. remind me never to get on the wrong side of you! That's a deadset bloodbath!
  7. Hunt played with them. Heard from people who went to watch the others at school and left saying how good that Hunt kid was. He really has been desperately unlucky with injuries, and surely the coaching staff know this. If he's not extended by a year (which I think is likely) then they can always rookie him (which I think is likely). Upside galore.
  8. Think M Jones has a role as deep depth, but yeah agree that bail is not up to it. While I thought spencer acquitted himself well, we need to switch him out. Can't wait for kent to come back for a bit of fed pressure, but bring in JKH in be meantime.
  9. Not disastrous. Went too tall so got smashed in transition. Some skill errors gave them momentum. Agree that Bail was very ordinary, so was m jones, Howe.
  10. I'd much rather they promote Harmes with a late pick. I also feel a little bit sorry for Hunt who has just had no luck. He's really young, rapid, great kick and apparently showed a lot at school level. I'd be tempted to delist him and re-rookie, see if he can develop.
  11. That was my original thought as well but just reading Plapp's comments it sounds like he dominated (his words) development and we know he can play AFL. Last week Roos bemoaned the lack of options in VFL as well as his reluctance to bring in youth too early, given that it just wouldn't surprise me. But I otherwise agree its not likely.
  12. Reading the VFL report it seems M Jones continued to suffer from the butchers curse. Ro Bail seems more likely, get the feeling Dawes didnt exactly excite, but hand might be forced. Out: Pedersen, Michie In: Dawes, Bail Wouldn't surprise to see Michie get another run at it. Also wouldn't surprise to see JKH switch in for Stretch/ANB.
  13. If Gawn held on to a few of those marks then we would be calling it a breakout game, and one of very high quality. He found himself in some very useful spaces, got his hands on the footy and used it well. And I agree that his tap work was first rate!! He was taking marks down at Casey, seems to fairly regularly down there so I'm guessing its a mental thing at AFL level. So I'm hoping it will come with more exposure, and if it does then he will be a terrific player.
  14. On the strength of his performance on Saturday with a particular focus on some excellent and clean hit-outs to advantage, my vote is Gawn.
  15. Thanks for your efforts KC, legend! Would be interested to hear your thoughts on Hunt if you have a chance? Plenty of posters talk of him not coming on, but he's been injured almost permanently and I had high hopes so hoping his progression is obvious week to week!
  16. Pretty rough on the guys playing at casey if they don't find out theyre playing until day of, don't know how thats supposed to help their preparation.
  17. Misson should grow up and realise there are thousands of supporters out there, including me, who would like even just a shred of insight in to what's happening with the players. Burgo is just doing his job. His annoyance at it is obvious, and it makes him come off as a complete [censored].
  18. Agree with Curry, think you're a bit off here. Frost and Kent both give us run and defensive pressure. JKH gives us creativity. Trengove would give us composure ( I think, what does he look like again?) So add them to Tyson and Salem (and Viney who barely played last week) and were appreciably better. I didn't even mention the potential of petracca.
  19. I just don't accept that players 'choose' when to play. Or just don't because they 'can't be arsed'.
  20. I agree with your basic premise, but I tend to to disagree that Riley (maybe), Tyson, Viney, Salem and Kent wouldn't make a difference. Compared to the weekend, I think they would make a big difference - precisely because they allow vanders, Brayshaw, Vince and Jonesy to get off the ball for a while. I think you'll find that M Jones spent some time going through the middle on the weekend as well.
  21. Yeah I tend to agree. I'm not as doomsday as some, the scoring came in clumps and in the first half very late, and I reckon it is tied to a couple of blokes falling off the pace. With the lack of depth in the midfield a lot falls to very few. If one of them starts dropping off then the domino effect of one dropping off, another trying to cover and then his man gets free etc (that roos referred to) starts to play out. People talk of trying to counteract their run, but we had runners on the weekend and they couldn't go with them. So focus on keeping it inside, or preventing easy disposals out of the stoppages. Tyson should help here, as will Viney. I want another in there. In: Tyson, Riley Out: Bail, Jones/Fitz (think Fitz may be required for the match up of Grundy if he goes forward. McDonald to Cloke, Dunn to White, Fitz to Grundy).
