Jeff White should take a look at Kreuzer's debut game

An eighteen year old first game player showed how to play ruck, kick goals and have an influence around the ground more than Jeff White has in I don't know how long!

As an 18 -26 year old White was doing all this and more .The centre circle rule effectively ended his career and made him the ( ineffective ) ruckman he is today .

White has been out of form and obviously lacking in confindence but he was an AA ruckman, he doesn't need ne lessons from a newbie in the AFL world.

Yes he does have to take lessons because he is ineffective soft and missing 95% of the time . always wins tapout straight on chest of opposition whos fault coaches players his enlighten me.

Try the center circle coming into the game. Since then, White's ruckwork has deteriorated significantly. He still gets the hitouts, but now they go the wrong way. His AA year was based substantially on his work around the ground, have no doubt.

He played alright on Sunday despite a few mistakes. The ABC commentators felt that the work around the ground of Johntson/White was a big factor in making Melbourne competetive.

Jeff White's days as a ruckman are over but I beleive he could be re invented as a running CHB he would add much needed height to the backline also with his experience he knows where to go this would allow him some time to set up play he has still some very good football in him I also believe David Neitz should now become a pinch hitter and come off the bench put Brad Green to Full Forward we need his leadership and experience whilst in transition to bring on the Zomers and Martins.

Newton has a big opportunity f he gets his mind and produces seacond efforts with defensive skills, but I have my doubts ? What are others opinion on these moves

Kreuzer had 0 hit outs to advantage.

His main role is to feed his midfielders which he didn't do.

As much as Jeff is struggling he is still getting about 30% H.O to advantage.

What in hell is that bunch of garble?

White played equally as well as Kreuzer on the weekend.

Lets put the hype into perspective, Rys Palmer played extremely well 24 possesions, Cale Morton 22 possesion and 2 goals, but Kreuzer with 16 possesions gets the articles written about him.

he also got beaten badly in the last quarter by Hill in the ruck contests as well which was critical to Essendon storming home. He does 'look' good but lets put it into perspective.

If he plays to his full potential, he will be another Josh Fraser ,and could have a career like Jeff Whites.

What a stupid thread.

White has been a great servant for us but is now well past his prime.

If we had some young rucks that could actually win the hitouts and have reasonable impact around the ground White probably would be our 2nd ruck or have retired. We don't have that though so we've been forced to keep him.

It is poor form to slag off a player who at his best dominated the ruck when he is in the twilight of his career. This year you would think would be his last.

He got about 22 touches and 11 marks - ruck-rover stats which is impressive.

However he un-did all his good work in the third qurter when it was his turn to take a contested mark deep in defence, but he heard (Jared River's) footsteps, and pulled out of the contest.

White is still important to us, but some soft characteristics are developing into this game

White's like a squirrel in springtime! All out of Nuts, & looking around trying to find some.

hhhmmmm that is an interesting prospect. He seems like he has the tank but does he has the desire to put himself into tough marking contests multiple times a weekend? Not to sure. Worth a thought if PJ comes back as well as he has played.

Who would then be 2nd ruckman? Surely not the Russian?

Much like your thought process if you are serious.

White in his prime was possibly the best Ruckman in the league. It was when the centre circle rules were changed that his effectiveness was diminished. His around the ground skills are excellent and really could be used more as a tall forward option.
