An ode to the team once known as the demons....

With high hopes the new Melbourne Coach sent his young charges out to the battlefield with the cry: "Go out there and fight like Fuschias".

And they did.

Unfortunately the Hawks, still playing under the handicap of the obsolete concept of an aggressive moniker, bloomin bloomed earlier than May and made the MFC look 150 years old.

Taking their inspiration from last year's premiers Hawthorn played fast and efficiently through the center corridor. Unfortunately Melbourne took their inspiration from Port, and spent the game kicking backwards.

At this stage it looks like the Hawks are part of a select group vying to come second to Geelong,

and Melbourne are demonstrating to Carlton thats its not a one horse race to qualify for 1st

draft pick.

In further good news to Melbourne fans there have been no reports of any Melbourne player being drunk in the early hours.

Some could say they spent Sunday evening pissing on the grave of every Demon legend,

but Checker Hughes has sent a message from his grave requested they go out there and [censored] like Demons.

Neal Daniher reports the team is possibly a few further minutes away from the premiership clock than he thought.

Robert Flower declares they aren't even good enough to be flowers and should go further back from the Fuschia tag and be the Invincible Whites again,

especially cos white is so bad that even the umpires have abandoned it.

Jeff White says it is hard being white.
