I know it has been mentioned before but I would just like to say how good, I think the new logo looks.

At first it didn't float my boat at all, but it has really grown on me, especially after seeing it on member cards and the MFC website.

IMO Melbourne does have a bit of an identity crisis and I believe that this logo says and shows all it needs to; We are the red and blue and we are Melbourne.

Isn't it funny, though, how quickly the old logo looks outdated and old now?

I always like the old one, but it does look a little tacky now.

EDIT: My only gripe with the new logo is that every letter "e" is lower case. It's a bit annoying.

I have to say the new logo does nothing for me at all. It strikes me as the result of some namby pamby corporate night think tank after many should have gone home in the taxis !!

There's no imagination or passion at all in the design...its all .. "oh yeah..we're melbourne...yawn!!! "

looks like something churned out on a type writer.... in the age of computer graphics

gets a 3/10 from me

each to their own I suspect.

That's the thing, I like the simplicity of it. I'm the same when it comes to football jumpers.

I'm with you CB I like the simplicity of it as well.......

I mean I don't ever see the point of over embellishment particularly when it comes to branding.

The colours are obvious, and the relationship to the city and the playing jumper is also there for all to see.

Works perfectly fine for me, but then again I was never enraptured with the old "cartoony" one.

There seems to be enough issues other with our club at the moment than to find fault with this IMO :rolleyes: !!!

Its simple, look sharp, got substance...the old logo I think looked "Kiddie" to adults, and sinister to little kiddies.

And as long as it doesnt have the Darwin River embedded into it [ala the Opera House & the Swannies] then I'm happy enough

yes i agree with all but one of you...i initially was disgusted by it, but now i am happy...when people think of melbourne, they mainly think of the square with the red yolk anyway because it is on so many bumber stickers and for so long has almost bieng a second logo for us...i could not be happier with the logo at the moment

i also agree that jumpers should be simple aswell...my theory is that they should be simple enough for a 6 year old to draw with their hand, ala melbourne essendon richmond north etc etc

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

    Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50.     A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.     Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session.     Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9.
