this is from Gouga in the brad symes topic, and i thought that it is the best case scenario i have seen, if anyone can better this, i would be interested

"--Pick 21 to Port Adelaide for Brad Symes

--Pick 37 to Adelaide for John Meesen

--Pick 53 to West Coast for Ben McKinley

--Travis Johnstone and Brad Miller to Sydney for picks 11 and 44"

Therefore, we would have

IN

picks 11 and 44, Brad Symes, John Meeson, Ben Mckinley----we also would have picks 4, 69 and 85

OUT:

picks 21, 37 and 53, Travis Johnstone, Brad Miller

--------it might be a little bias (in terms of the draft picks from sydney) and pick 53 for mckinley, however IF we could get Symes, Meeson and Mckinley, i would much prefer them to late 1st rounders and second round draft picks...IMO they are young and trained and more valuable ATM. thoughts...

McKinley is likely worth more than pick 53. If we decide to shaft Adelaide I imagine we could probably bag him with 37.

My 'Best Case Scenario' is this;

TJ to Brisbane for pick 14 (received from the Filth for Cameron Wood).

Miller + pick 21 to Sydney for Pick 11.

37 to West Coke for Ben McKinley. If we could do it for 53, super, but I doubt it.

Meeson walks in the PSD and we get some recompense for the absolute de-pantsing we got for Scotty Thompson.

Leaves us with Picks 4, 11, 14, 53, and 69, with Meeson and McKinley two young players for Bailey to put some work into.

this is what mo64 found on mckinley in the WAFL

" his last 4 WAFL games:

____________________Goals...Behinds...Kicks...Marks...Handballs

Peel Thunder.......................7...........2..........11.........9............1

East Perth Claremont...........4...........3...........8..........6............2

Swan Districts.....................8............7..........19........13...........3

South Fremantle..................2............3...........7..........2............2 "

--IMO, its just stats but i think he sounds like a real match winner. apparantly has been likened to robbo, born in 87 so can only be 20 or 21. only got the one senior game but id be happy to give maybe our fourth rounder plus something else for him...cant think of what though

Ben McKinley

Height: 184

Weight: 82

DOB: 04-03-1987

Recruited From: Old Ivanhoe/Northern U18

Draft history: 2005 NAB AFL Draft 2nd round selection (West Coast) No. 29 overall

Strong overhead and an accurate kick, he is eyeing a place at half-forward or through the midfield.

He will be 21 in March I believe. Yeah the Robbo comparisson is probably appropriate, since Robbo is more or less the benchmark for leading small forwards. I don't think he has the aerial prowess of Robbo, however, though I'm not sure.

i have high hopes in DB and what he can achieve with him...dont know why, but he sounds like a very good developmental coach so could be interesting....

The best description I've heard of McKinley from an eagles fan is a younger version of Robbo but works much harder, especially with chasing etc Very, very strong mark.

This McKinley fella sounds a good prospect. I say screw helping out the Pies in their deal with Brisbane for wood, although pick 14 is certainly a lot more attractive than pick 20. what's the eagles 1st round pick? 13? what about dealing direct with the WCE for trapper? Trapper to Eagles and our 3rd rounder (pick 47) for Eagles first round pick (13) and Ben Mckinley. That would be a better deal for us I reckon than TJ to Brisbane for pick 14 and Rhys shaw. Thoughts?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
