If Chris doesn't name us as his prefered destination

lets say that unfortunately Chris decides he doesn't want to play for the Melbourne Footy Club, the next question we should ask ourselves is, what do we do with Pick 4?

Carlton won't part with 1, nor Richmond with 2. The blues have 3, then we have 4.

Lets say if he wants to go to Carlton, but the eagles want two top 5 selections, what would we require for the draft choice? Carlton could get pretty desperate and make us a great offer if it will help them secure Judd. Or what if he wants to go to the Pies, or Essendon, what could we secure from these clubs for our draft choice.

Fevola from Carlton if we were interested perhaps? One of Collingwood's young guns? Even if we don't get Chris, we still maybe able to get some benefit out of this situation.

that is correct.

there will be one or two teams who will gain significantly from attaching themselves to the Judd deal even if Judd doesnt end up coming to them (it is likely to be a 3 or 4 way trade.) if we aren't going to get Judd, then we should be clever and try to gain from the deal anyway. pick 4 will be valuable for any club trying to get Judd!

also, pick 4 is extremely valuable to Port Adelaide and Adelaide (who has pick 10 atm). Both would love to pick up Brad Ebert at pick4, and if we are clever, we could use the fact there is such high demand for that pick and jack up the price for it...its basic economics!

We could trade to get Scott Thompson back! And then he'd say he'd want to go back home!

But i do agree with the topic of this thread, pick 4 can get us right in amongst the Judd trade even if we don't get him, and it could really be benificial to us.

It's good in principle but Carlton have nothing that we need. Fevola is a great big sook who I don't want at the club and apart from that their list is rubbish (they won't part with Stevens, Murphy etc.)

I actually think that if we don't land Judd then we should hang on to Pick 4 and use all our picks below this to either improve our draft standing or to land a few players who will improve our list.

also Morton and Palmer are around 4th pick so the west will want it as well

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. Once again the club’s top goal scorer but he had a few uncharacteristic flat spots during the season and the club will be looking for much better from him in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses. The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
