Demonland Player of The Year - Round 18

6 - Carroll

5 - Green

4 - Newton

3 - Ferguson

2 - Holland

1 - McLean

Carroll beat Hall easily. Green looked like the only midfielder capable of hitting targets. Newton's second half was a joy to watch, we have a keeper there. Fergs did his job well and provided some sort of resistance. Holland was our only forward capable of taking a contested mark. McLean ... well he fought hard.

Green - 6

Carroll - 5

Newton - 4

McLean - 3

Holland - 2

Ferguson - 1

I gave Newton 4 because he was probably our best forward in the second half, Carroll 5 due to the fact that he beat Hall, Green 6 as he was our best midfielder. The other 3 tried hard

For me Jones has had a solid year.

Aside from Jones, I don't think any of them has had a good year. How sad is that?

True, except for jmac who always tries his heart out and petterd before he got injuried

I am stunned to see how Frawley has 3 votes???

I want to see this game where this happened.

I must be watching the wrong game?

Just a question ... what does "The award goes in camera for the remainder of the season.." mean? I have never heard that expression once in my life!!??

I think it means the totals after each round will not be posted as to add to the suspence. But if anyone could be bothered (i very much doubt) we could easily just add the votes after each round to the tally you just gave us.

But who could really give a fuck!

I too haven't heard of the saying before.

You won't be able to count the votes after each round because the in camera part means they won't be revealed until after Round 22.

Can someone explain how Frawley has votes. Surely you can override whoever gave them to him. He played an absolute shit game the day he got 3 votes.

The voting system is democratic and therefore dependent on the vote giver's opinions on the players. It's worked fine over a number of years now and I'm sure Andy would dismiss any votes which weren't fair dinkum. He certainly doesn't have to go to any individual for approval of another person's votes.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
