Had a chat with RO40, aka Ronnie, aka Riley Onley. He said they’re thinking of a potential positional change for him. I said On the wing? He said he’s played on the wing before and played well in that position but no, in the backline. He said he very much likes the prospect of playing in defence.

Ron is a quiet, reserved boy but when you listen to him instead talking to him he’s comfortable enough to keep talking. I basically just asked how he’s finding being with us and he talked all the way from Gosch’s to AAMI.

I have a good feeling about him. My spidey senses were tingling and I think at some point in the future we’ll be lauding a great defender.

Big maxy said yesterday don’t be surprised if AMW Taylor or Matthews make their debut… maybe even two of them

I don’t do quiet. You know this. I don’t have an indoor voice.

Possibly - with Salem out and Lindsay looking doubtful.....

XL is dealing with a sore groin.

Big thanks to Ghostwriter, Harvey Wallbanger all posters and special comments a bit more serious stuff today. I hope Lindsay gets up but not sounding good and he has taken a number of big hits over the last couple of games. Look forward to hearing who comes in but sounds like XT is on for Sunday. Also interesting that they are setting Onley for the backline, has height and pace must have stamina as he was playing through midfield last year. A few good snippets today.

That would be great if he could develop into a good key defender, as we are short of one and he has the size needed to start with.

Sorry for the delay the boss had me doing house work.

Trelly last out to training.

Gawn wearing a beanie makes a fashion statement. The emblem is over the right eyebrow.

Max and Moose doing ruck work in the middle.

I hope we can make something of Onley as he is massive.

Tommy Mat hasnt got any taller.

Lindsay just did handball drills with the trainer.

Max had a good chat with Lever. You wonder what is left to be said after playing together for so long.

AMW looks ready to go.

Fritta and Riv running laps towards the end.

  • PREVIEW: Brisbnae

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
