Accessing membership?

Featured Replies

Hey, I’ve renewed as per normal on auto renew.

I’ve opted out on the membership package.

how do I access my memberships for me and my boys?

MFC app if you didn’t get sent physical cards….

Edited by Bleasey as that

I had the mobile membership for 1 year, it was way too hard for accessibility compared to having a physical membership card sent out.

I know it doesn’t help those that opted for mobile this year, but good for thought in future. Maybe ring up the club during the week and ask them to send out physical membership, it is soooo much easier and convenient.

***I am 38 and am pretty tech savvy, so it’s definitely got nothing to do with older people not keeping up with technology.

There will absolutely be Membership staff there at our gates tomorrow for people to pick physical cards, and to help with any issues. Go speak to them. They are always really helpful.

Always get a physical card too. Phones are still unreliable in massive crowds.

Had the same problem but found the solution below. (Scroll down etc)

Bit clunky wasn’t it? (Or maybe I am just a living breathing dinosaur)

Go Dees

Can't access my ticket on the app. Phone updated, app updated, passwords checked, even re installed app.

Says no tickets available

Will go to membership tent well before game time to sort out

Shoulda got a card instead of going digital 🤷‍♂️

This happens every year. You'd think I'd have known better

Curious as how this panned out?

I had the same problem, queued up before the game and was told it was a Ticketmaster/MFC account link issue.

I just called the club and was told all members across the AFL with Android phones are affected and it has been escalated to the AFL to sort out with Ticketmaster. No timeline on when it will be fixed.

Not wanting to doubt that info wondering if other members with Androids had the problem accessing tickets.

Yes Luce, I too have an android.

I could find my tickets in ticketmaster app but they could only be accessed by the mfc app using an Apple wallet. Seems like an obvious problem that ticketmaster and the AFL should've foreseen and dealt with before R1. Not everyone has an iPhone!

So much for digital entry being smoother 🤷‍♂️

The very helpful person at the membership booth printed off my ticket, but couldn't figure out why they weren't transferring from ticketmaster to my mfc app. She reset my membership account but it still wouldnt work. Close to an hour wasted in a line

I'm getting my 16 game membership card mailed out. Takes 2-3 weeks, hopefully before the Carlton away game. Will be using this in future, I suggest other android users do as well

Thanks SA!

Totally agree about it being foreseen - it doesn't say much for their 'pre going live testing' nor the nous of the implementation team.

I'm surprised it hasn't hit the media as apparently members of all clubs with Androids are affected!

I asked our membership office about the extra GA tickets often sent to Premium members but those of us with Androids can't access them. They said to call or email the club before the relevant game and they will send them.

Never had an iPhone. Trident member for many years and didn't know extra GA tickets were on offer. Thanks for the info.

Apple are so insidious, I'd be surprised if they don't sponsor the AFL and give free products to Andrew Dill and his team

The extra GA are usually when expected attendance is low.

When the Android access problem is fixed they should appear with the Trident ticket. In the meantime we contact the club.

You are using an Apple Wallet on an Android phone?

I have a Google pixel, I was able to save the tickets in my Google Wallet.

At least Android beat them at PTV payment.

People complaining about the Myki system completely unaware that Android devices can pay for many years now.

The mobile membership in theory is a good option but hasn't made things necessarily easier or quicker.

I'm also an android user and I've had weird quirks like the ticket screen being blank and showing up after 5 seconds or not at all, the wrong tickets showing or the app refusing to save them to google wallet. The physical card is just a must.

It's quite annoying but just one of the realities of being an android user where it's harder to test and optimise these apps for the open source environment whereas with Apple being closed it is more predictable I guess and quicker with less resources involved I guess?

I want to like this app but it's not there yet for me, plastic card all the way.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
