Well, this list lost all credibility at #50 when they've included a bloke who hasn't played a game over, well, anyone.

That's ok....

That was... THEN

We're in NOW 😉

Had to get a Carlton player onto the list!

Huh? One? I count two; Langford and Humphrey.

A few others might be a little stiff to miss out. Despite a poor season Van Rooyen deserves more respect for the way he kept plugging at it with defensive efforts and team play, in contrast to unaccountable ball-butcher Caddy. I'd also certainly take Van Rooyen's poor 2025 ahead of Amiss' poor 2025.

Windsor and Lindsay have both shown real promise but on gross output in 2025 it is fair enough that they're just outside the list.

I strongly suspect our places on lists like this will be very different 12 months from now.

So much change, so much opportunity for any given player to assert themselves. It'll be fascinating.

Judd McTraitor* is also on the list and the statistics which are being utilised to make a determination solely pertain to the period of his career during which he was a Demon...

*Colloquially known as McVee

Maybe Jagga Smith made the list because if he didn’t get injured there is no way we would have got an extra pick form AMW going down on the eve of the season.

I would take Darrcy over Daicos everyday day and twice on Sundays.

If you ever want to lay someone on betfair Daicos is the one. He runs all day and is as a good as a kick you will see but is softer than any player I have ever seen for being that elite. He can start Brownlow favourite every year and keep on missing. But he will.

He has one dubious contested mark in his career and I haven’t checked his hard ball gets but they would be close to zero.

Lucky Mihicheck has Kozzie kicking to him this year. He won’t squirm a contest and will deliver just as well

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
