that behaviour being encouraged by Emma Kearney. Not a great look. At all.

Great player over the journey but I've seen plenty of unsportsmanlike behaviour from her

And the other thing i forgot to mention is that the North AFLW supporters are feral - like worse than any other club Feral.

A few years ago when I used to check out the women's footy forums on BigFooty there were two groups of unpleasant posters. The misogynists who would just be there to hate on women's footy, and the North fans.

I wish I knew how to get and embed short videos, because the chain of handballs on the northern wing that leads to the Wotherspoon goal that put us two goals ahead is absolute poetry.

The Georgia Campbell pick up and little give to Fitzpatrick is delightful. (We have to keep Campbell - got to be our number one ruck next year.) Then Fitz pops one up to Heath and she looks like she's clear, but Keeley Kustermann, a former 800 metre runner, turns on the jets and looks like she'll mow her down. Heath seems to be going flat out, but managed to find another gear, arches the back, gets some space and... the handball to Mahony. Just. Hook. It. To. My. Veins.

I couldn't watch the game, but have it recorded. I have seen hore's great goal & Gillard tackle.

But are you telling me after being down at half time our coach actually made moves & it worked? Well knock me down, who would have thought.

Haha yes, I think I scoffed at the TV at the start of the third quarter after being ripped off by three Crows goals from umpire howlers. The Dees almost at a standstill and our best goal kicker, Zanks in the stands, I watched our other key Forward, Tayla Harris in the ruck! WTF
and... she dominated in the middle of the ground and we still kicked goals. A really brave move by Mick.
He's not a deer in the headlights hey.

I love the way both Tayla and Kate Hore have been used to go back and shore up defence of late when we're under the pump.
I'm sure Kate took four marks in a row in the backline at one point when we were under pressure.
Neck minnit she's kicking goals.

Enjoy the replay.

Heath looked completely stuffed and was having a laugh with some other players who came over to give her a pat on the back (I'm guessing something happened late in the 3rd involving Shelley?).

I reckon it would be that huge effort on the wing where she laid a big tackle (not rewarded) then another (not rewarded) and eventually just mopped it up and cleared the ball herself before turning to the umpire in disbelief.

Also @Ghostwriter , if this is the work of the new kid, he might be the best thing since Benny Gibson

Oh how good is that! Yeah, Trent told me before the match that he’d been filming all morning and still had a ways to go. This one is brilliant, a true look behind the scenes.

And how about the soundtrack! I told Trent last week that the music which usually accompanies the footage in these vids is, in the very least, irritating (the generic electric guitar pieces) and that imo the backing music shouldn’t overpower the images and really shouldn’t even be noticed much. Ergo, ima take the credit for this video’s great backing music.

You’re all welcome! 😅

To be fair, his brother* is the black sheep, the rest of the Maynards I'm sure are fine. Particularly with Peter and Corey both being Dees players, and Peter working for MFC.

My gob is smacked. Peter Maynard didn't play many games but he played right in my most feral teenage Dees years. I didn't realise that that dude is one of his kids. Well well.

OMG seriously one of the best videos the club has put together in recent times. In for some great footage this year if this is the new standard moving forward. Well done to all concerned at the Club. Go Dees!!!!!

Full credit to the girls and thoroughly deserved. They are great ambassadors for our club. With the outs I thought they were up against it but should have known better than to doubt the character of this team and I won’t so I’m calling it now it’s HOO ROO to the Roo’s.There are not enough superlatives to describe Kate Hore the footballer.

And the person! Inspration to us all.

Yes spot on, but I really dislike that push in the back thing after winning the free kick. It should be out of the game 100%. The only thing you're doing there is risking a reversal, and if there's one team that'll be pinged for that, who do you reckon it would be?!? It's not something we want in either M or W if you ask me.

Technically it could be push in the back and a reverse free kick. Imagine that if the lead was less than a goal and the final siren gone. Dont do it boys and girls! Silly!

Brilliant piece of media, best for a long time.

Can’t quite work out if we just played our GF or if this makes us unstoppable next week? Won’t have to wait long to find out.

I thought that was one of the best plays of the day. She was completely outsized by her opponent, but Shelly was just ferocious with her tackling.

That was a real 50/50 contest and she just wouldn't give in.

For your veins (couldn't fit in all the lead-up, but to me the into space handball was the highlight of the highlight):

You're a ledge.

If I was more technically minded I'd do the John Williams Jaws theme over the top of both Gillard tackles.

Wonderful insight.

I've been thinking a bit about Stinnear recently, and that after 10 years some coaches can begin to seem like they're overstaying their welcome. Stinnear is not one.

It's very obvious he's loved and greatly admired, and I'm almost certain one of the main reasons we've retained so many players where other Seaon 1 teams have been raided over and over again, is the coach.

I found out the other day that the Bulldogs' number 1 pick from two years ago is likely to seek a trade after the season. That would be three number 1 (overall) draft picks that the Dogs will have lost since they began. They've also lost multiple other very good players - Toogood, Conti, Brennan, Lochland and more. Same with Collingwood.

We've lost a couple of good players against our will (and it sounds like we'll lose Zanker at the end of this season), but have never seen these kind of exoduses and it shows in our results. We don't have the benefit of numerous two-team state drafts behind us, but keep competing against the very best.

Hope he sticks around.

Absolutely agree about Mick, he's absolutely much loved. His raw emotion in this video is so telling.

Also, according to Edo herself, don't believe the media. Her words.

You've probably seen me banging on about the asset he is and should be used across the whole club both men and women's culture. (If possible)

It speaks volumes of the man and the team with the culture that they've built and the way we've stayed competitive for a decade while having to turnover some players.

It was interesting in that video how the coaching group emphasised that this team will not be the same next year. You only have now to achieve something.

They have done incredibly well to blend the experienced players with the development of the youngsters on the fly.

It speaks volumes of the man as you say, that he has stayed fresh and incredibly authentic for so long and this group still looks incredibly hungry to lift the cup this year.

Yes, it felt quite pointed. I imagine it's hard when you're in the thick of it to remember how quickly things change post-season. Certainly there'll be some retirements and inevitable de-listings, maybe some movement in the coaching ranks as well. I've seen Shae Sloane, for example, mentioned as a possibility for some of the vacant senior coach jobs.
