Good to see a response yesterday. IMO that’s a par win against a club that’s rock bottom.

Question for the panel.

What will it take on-field for you to Trust the team again? Leading into next season.

For me what I need to see in the last 3 games of the year, is them having a genuine crack. I want us to win 1 maybe 2 of the last 3 and if so, I can see a path forward. But if we turn up half interested have to listen to same post match rubbish I’m off us until I see something to believe in.

Are we better than any of those 3 teams? If not doesn't that mean we'll lose to all of them? Of course we should go in thinking we can win them, play well and at the very least not embarass ourselves. But, especially given all the c**p this year, I hardly think three honourable losses will add more grief.

I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, and after last week’s final-quarter collapse, a comprehensive mauling like that felt cathartic. But honestly, how much can we really take from a win against a side floundering as badly as the Eagles are right now? They’ve managed just one win all season and were missing key players like Waterman, Reid, Yeo, Allen, and McGovern. I’d go so far as to say most VFL teams would’ve rolled them on the weekend, and any finals contender would’ve blown them off the park even more than we did. The real test comes over the next three weeks against genuine opposition. That’s when we’ll get a clearer picture of where we truly stand.

@Demonland welcome back  👏👏👏WE MISSED YOU

Welcome Home Minions GIF

Lots to talk about

The good…

Jack Viney - broken hand, no worries - he’s a tough warrior - 8 tackles & 13 clearances. He’s as tough as anyone ever to wear red and blue

Caleb Windsor - well… quiet for three quarters and struggled (7 possessions)… then 9 with his run and carry through the middle and hitting targets … that’s what we want to see

Clayton Oliver. I think we saw glimpses of the old Clarry … he was good and saw some reminders of his run away from contest

Fritsch. 4 straight. Showed his elite goal sense and classy goalkicking. He’s still a weapon and Dees need to keep him in red and blue

Max Gawn - Led from the front. He’s locking in the ruck All Australian 2025 role. He’s a legend. Surely they can’t think Grundy or Cameron or Xerri are better this year.

Christian Salem - Was brave in defence and I had him in as one of our best. Metres gained 400 , much better impact with the footy (although still looked slow at times and gets exposed too often across the grass)

Harvey Langford (full name of course ) I think he’s back into rising star contention. Thought he might get rested but looked still full of run. Only knock on him… get a right foot. Even Bont has to kicK it on his right sometimes

JAI CULLEY - great story. He could be a player. Not sure where he fits though. He’s too slow for the wing. He got caught out a few times as Eagles ran past or away from him. Good marking. Good kick. Perhaps half forward .

Loved the 21.13. Accurate goalkicking. Wow. Yes low pressure Yes inside and under the roof

so three games to go. Are we a chance in any ? Unlikely !!! we again had

  • Too many “Missed tackles”

  • Lazy disposal and turnovers

  • Stupid50s given

  • Up and under kicks into forward 50 (need forwards leading and low direct passes)

Oh

Wing positions and predictions. If Jai can lock down a wing role in 2026, where does that leave Lindsay?

Thoughts on seeing Jai/Langdon back on the wing. Lindsay at HB and Windsor continuing an on-ball roll.

Why have the footy department been hiding Jai Culley until 4 rounds to go? He is exactly what we have been needing from any of our traded in recruits. Tall, athletic, able to play forward, wing, mid and can take a great grab and kick a goal. Another blight on our selections throughout the year.

I thought he played much better in the Seniors than any of his Casey games.

I definitely had trouble with Demonland for a few hours post St Kilda. Wasn't sure if it was thousands like me, logging in to vent or whether Andy had pulled the pin on the website in disgust. Either is understandable.

I couldn’t get on either. I just assumed it went into meltdown

Thanks guys, great to hear your voices again! 😀

Probably need to do a welfare check on several posters.

Surely @Demonland needs to put out a Post Goodwin Sacking Podcast this Thursday.

The forum is owed one after the Stkilda game.

It's funny I had not heard this podcast until after this morning's news. A lot of the podcast then seemed like ancient history. I know you have more in ife than d land podcasts but another in light of the coach being sacked is needed.

That'd be nice. But I'm sure the sacking will be front and centre in the next podcast (and the teams first game result after it.)

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
