Bummer. I'll be out in Coburg tomorrow morning. Pity it's being played out in Terra Nullius.

Spargo returns. Billings and Adams the travelling emergencies.

Looking forward to seeing how Kentfield goes without JvR next to him.

FYI @paul Amy reports

Worth noting that Casey Demons talent Roy George has made a mid-season move in the VFL, joining the busy Port Melbourne.

I have always wondered why the Casey Demon logo looks so unnecessarily amateurish. Taking into account that they are second tier compared to the MFC but that logo looks like it was made by some kid in Year 8, circa 2005

Casey by 8 goals. Bonner to have 35 possessions. Campbell to have 52 hitouts. Spargo to kick 5 goals and have 32 possessions against the VFL level part timers. Surely Kentfield kicks at least 4 goals this week.

Coburg have been traditional wooden spooners in the VFL often with zero wins or thereabouts for the season.

This year is different with six wins and only one spot behind us.

With our travelling AFL emergencies not available could be a tough match

With Lever’s levitation, Marty’s season ending injury and Adam’s Adelaide adventure. The defence cupboard is looking slightly Xposed. Although a refresh with Bryce, Freeman and Lual is a positive given last week’s struggles in Qld.

Paddy Cross is a welcome return up forward, knows where the goal posts are. What was equally perplexing last week with Will Verrall’s limited time on field, was Taj Woewodin’s extended time on the pine.

Anything could happen in this match. They’ve been pretty active recruiting – though not as active as Casey. They are missing Keogh in ruck but have replaced him with Furphy from Geelong, who has very little impact around the ground. Gentile usually has a big game against us. It would be nice if somebody could stop that – Baldi? Woey??

Bytel, Gentile and Allison up forward are quality players. Baldi tagging Gentile is the most obvious coaching move of the week.

It will never happen

I wonder if that is because we put a line through his name at Casey or something else.

I really thought he had some tricks.

Strong hands by Kentfield. Playing forward again. Shanked the kick though.

Luker regulation mark and skewed off his boot. Unfortunately.

Riley Baldi Goal!

Windsor playing the guts and looks to have some urgency about his game today.

Big Tom Campbell dominating in the ruck.

Pup Brown busy. Spargo one handed hand pass. Free to Coburg.

Windsor Culley Mentha buzzing around the packs.

Will Verrall some good touches and a mark in defence.

Caleb Windsor snap misses major entry.

Hardie with Casey’s second after a horrible turnover by Coburg.

Jack Henderson intercept.

Pass to Mitch Hardie. Goal!!

I mean this in a less narky way than it sounds, genuine question.

What are Ricky Mentha’s strengths supposed to be? Cos he’s been done for pace a couple of times already and whenever I’ve watched him appears to be an iffy kick…

Score Casey 2 goals 2 behinds

Coburg 1 goal 1 behind

The umpiring standard at VFL is disgusting. Four free kicks to Coburg when the player clearly leads with their head.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
