Those who have lauded his defensive abilities might like to think about him as running HBF? AMWs replacement! As iterated I personally dont think he does enough as a forward, so why not?? ANY TAKERS?

Definitely a hard nut. Has the tank and work ethic. For me questions marks on ball use and footy IQ.

With Salem, McVee, Windsor, Bowey, Howes and Rivers part time, i think we have the depth to cover.

We’re crying out for small forwards as it is and have sufficient depth off the HBF. Although the injury to AMW is less than ideal, I wouldn’t be taking Chandler from the forward line when we’ll already be missing Pickett and ANB (although we may find Sharp is able to assist - but I’ll need more exposed form than his game against Norf, as impressive as it was).

Chandler was 8th in the best and fairest last year. The rest of our small forwards are injured or suspended.

Can people please learn about modern footy and the value of defensive pressure and positioning of small forwards.

Leave him up forward.

With Kozzie out, he's our leading small goal kicker and is generally an excellent set shot at goal as evidenced by his 66% accuracy in terms of goals/total shots (excluding any out on the fulls).

We'd love his 21 goals a season to turn into the 30's but I'm not sure he has that in him. Plus he's also there to provide forward pressure and created a good outlet between wing and half forward.

Along with some of our other forwards such as JVR, he had a disappointing final month last year in terms of goal kicking output.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
