After sustaining a torn ACL in the final match of the 2023 season Jake added a bit to the attack late in the 2024 season upon his return. He has re-signed on to the Demons for 1 more season in 2025.

Nothing bad to say. Came in off a serious injury, provided a bit, straightened us up a bit. Hopefully he can return to form before his injury but fine with him staying on as a leader and mentor if his best is past him.

When he came back into the team you could instantly see that he is a player with a very high 'Football IQ'.
He just knows how to play, how to organise and whist things weren't perfect inside our forward 50, they definitely improved.

I don't know how many games he plays next year but I know he's definitely an asset to the club.

Jake Melksham brings a lot to the club toughness, leadership, experience and footy smarts. Hope he stays on the bench when not playing to provide that forward leadership.

Stats are unreliable but;

Seventh in the league for goal assists per game, despite being subbed out twice, including once in the first quarter. Also contributed a handy goal a game.

As a role player in attack he is excellent value. It seems unusual to describe someone who can change the tactical situation purely with their own vision as being a 'role player', but, well, that's his role!

Love the Melk.
Love it when he does Melk stuff.

Feel a bit like Jordan Lewis' last year.

If our team is on the up a youngster will push him out.

Will it happen.. no one grabbed Lewis' spot
