Luker Kentfield is a good size has played against men in the WAFL, reported to have a bit of mongrel and should be given time to develop out at Casey. No doubt by the end of ‘25 we will have a clearer view.

Has a mid-season draft recruit who is a KPP ever ‘made it’?

Newcombe and Ambrosio as mids the benchmarks for what you can pick up at that time of the year.

I can't think of one but LK has just turned 19 so has time on his side.

Disco Turner, early days but made a great impact as KPP this year

James Podsialy (?spelling) I think may have been a midseason pickup (from VFL) and was an immediate success.   Mind you he was an established VFL  mature aged player.
Some here wanted him delisted because he didn’t do much in his first half season, carrying injury. 🙄

It was always going to be hard for an 18-year-old key forward to make an impact when he hasn't had a full AFL pre-season while also playing for a bottom six VFL side.

While time is on LK's side, will we give him that time? We've just jettisoned KFW after two years when he clearly needed more time in the system. I'm hoping we have a bit more patience in Luker's development.

There is quite a bit of good-to-bloody-good about Disco ... another year has passed, he might be almost ready to erupt into what we need; he really could out-pace opponents and I'd love to see him lead out of the fwd stink and into potential glory for the Dees.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.

The Demons were sloppy all day and could not stop the run and carry of the fast moving Hawthorn as the Hawks cruised to an easy 36 point win. Is the season over yet?
