good start from the girls. kicking straight always helps

umpiring ridiculous as per usual

5 goals 0 behinds impressive accuracy. Freo continue to pepper the pot. 1 goal 4 behinds.

very good half from the girls.

rubbish free against goldy on the siren to give freo a goal. that umpire is atrocious

if we can maintain the accuracy we are well placed to win

Hungry hungry Hore. Had 2 in the square loose

Shocking umpiring

our accuracy has desserted us

Followed unfortunately by 0 goals 5 behinds. Effective two goal buffer ahead of Freo though.

More ****house umpiring

Free to air 'live' has been murdoched.

Casey radio budget appears strictly limited to forays within greater Melbourne.

AFL has managed a synthetic bush telegraph.

This is the most pathetically one sided umpiring performance I have ever seen!!

And then we get one back.

Schofield melt incoming

Watching it live at the ground.  We are definitely fitter and better drilled than freo.  Just simple skill errors keeping them in it.  Plus poor decision making with the last kick into the 50.   Nice goal from 50

It wasn’t a sling tackle. But it was high. It still should’ve been Goldy’s ball.

The inconsistency in HTB between the two teams is staggering! Hanks and Gillard both pinged for breaking tackles, while Freo players get an eternity for it to be called ball up. Terrible.

Golden goal from Goldrick.

mcnamara has been excellent all day

It’s still the kick going to half forward and inside 50. We seem to not see freo players standing by themselves.  Still 2 up

thats goal no 3 freo have scored from rubbish frees.

No idea why Hore wasn’t back the whole quarter and a bad effort from Colvin to concede 2 goals in quick succession.

We need a miracle now

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
