This video is really worth watching. Mali is the designer of this season’s Narrm guernsey and she tells the story of her beloved little brother’s second chance at life which is the inspiration for her design. I watched this vid when it was put on the website about a fortnight ago and today I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mali and her little brother KC who were at Gosch’s. Regardless of how you feel about the guernsey design, you’ll love it once you’ve heard their story.

Please be the year we square the win/loss ledger for Narrm. Also if we could go back to more goals than points, would also be much appreciated.

1-3 under Narrm.

The one win came against North in 2022.

The under Naarm sounds a bit like the Chappeli incident.

Except Chappelli (Ian) wasn't involved.  It was Chappell (G.) instructing Chappell (T.).

You're right. My bad. My life as a borderline gen X outcast. Should have said Chapellgt incident.

I was at that game.  It ranks with the Adam Goodes saga as the most disgraceful thing I've seen in sport.

I went to the 2016 Australia Day T20 match between Australia and India and a Cairns basketball match not so long ago. Everyone was well behaved, but as far as sports go, it all felt pretty disgraceful.

Excited to see two new clubs have adopted their First Nations names!  We've now got Euro-Yroke (St Kilda) and Waalitj Marawar (Weagles).

Proud of the club for starting off this approach ❤💙

Such a lovely story, I hope the club keeps this design for a few years. Or gets Mali to do a series.

There has been a disturbing recent trend on social media with our indigenous members of our community having their identity questioned from the ignorant overseas. Won’t go into more because it isn’t relevant to my next point but I am really proud of the club that they do this and that we just make it a part of this storied club.

The best time to start a tradition is ten years ago, the second best time is today.

I think that’s the saying…

I agree rpfc. Mali is an extremely talented artist and her whole family is mad, mad, mad Melbourne. A ton of love went into that design.

Mali and KC were interviewed on 360 last night. It was striking how grateful they were to share their story, in particular KC at the end of the interview was so sincere in his thanks to Gerard and Robbo. I saw this for myself on Monday at Gosch’s. I told Mali that when I watched the video how bloody relieved I was to get to the end to discover KC made it through and is now thriving. She said, “Can you do something for me… can you please tell him that?” She called him over (I didn’t realise he was there) and I did just that. What can I say… this kid must hear things like this all the time but he appreciated every word I said. I actually teared up while talking to him and he reached out to hold my hand! What 17yo kid does that??? Massive hugs and gushing about the Dees ensued and it’s a meeting I’ll never forget.

I’m gonna make a hobby out of hearing the commentators trying to pronounce ‘Waalitj Marawar’ 😅

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
