Living interstate, I've only been able to get to one of these games.

If you are umming ( sorry Binners) about going to this game, let me assure you it was one of the best games I have attended.

We lost ( Injuries took a toll). Richmond were a dominant side then as well.

But it's the pre match stuff that makes it. The ceremony of mobile phones and the last post.

It's heart in mouth stuff . It's humbling and pride filling at the same time. It's hairs rising on the back of your neck as well.

I guarantee it will fill you with gratitude and patriotism .

And I'm pretty sure we will win this.

Although despite the tigers form I guess with the crowd and occasion there could be an upset.

Nah.

Enjoy.

Fully agree. My favourite game of the season. So much emotion and I always end up getting teary. Even my husband admits the atmosphere is so much better than the Anzac Day game.

Mate every time there is a ticketing thread you appear and tell us why you don’t want to attend the game. Why even bother.

Just decided to have a squiz on ticketek and not much either public or MCC, just a few bays on level 4 for both..

If there's about 10-15k walk ups on the night I'd expect a crowd of 80k+.

The ticketing process for this is much more circumurination than is necessary. I have three memberships in the family (youngest son, daughter and myself) and a fourth counting my brother-in-law. Anzac Eve is always a big night for us, with several others coming along for the occasion. So we now have a party of 10 including 4 members. The best I could book last night was Q52 row HH (ie almost at the back). This is okay, but I am sure it will be annoying on the night to think that we could easily have found better seats by waiting longer.  We would have been happy to turn up early and take what we could find, so for us the whole ticketing process is just [censored].

It's a tigers home game and with the way their season has been I would not have expected a big crowd. However it appears I am wrong. Looks like TV for me.

I just bought a ticket today, still plenty left

Why bother replying to old dee, she lost it ages ago, she doesn't think JVR has shown anything yet

I am devastated to be missing this game, if you can go, even if you can't get a decent seat, go. I've been to every single one of these and it is an absolutely brilliant experience, plus I think we will win!

Why aren't you going? It's the question on everyone's mind.

But yeah I agree, if you've never been do yourself a favour in the words of MM.

I am going to be overseas for work and won't be back until the following week unfortunately.

Really the only reason I miss these types of games is if I am away. The ANZAC Eve game is probably my favourite H&A game of the season, so I am really sad to be missing it.

Not a bad alternative at least, hope it goes well!

This is definitely my favourite as well. Well and truly surpassed KB.

KB has been ruined for me by Pies fans. Even when it's our home game, it is an unpleasant experience.

I am going to miss this year's KB for the first time since I think I was in hospital on KB about 13 years ago. I just can't bring myself to go to an away game against the Pies after the horrific experience I had in last year's final.
My mental health and intelligence suffered enough after that ****eshow.

This will be the first ANZAC eve game you’ve ever missed. ☹️
Here’s my question though… can your husband still attend? He’s our *good luck charm, remember?

* last week vs Brisbane doesn’t count. Coz I said so.

He is indeed attending on my behalf, but frankly after last week his record is in the bin and so is my love for him*😂

Although, the last loss he saw live was in 2021 vs GWS… and we know what happened after that 😀

*this is a joke, please everyone keep calm

What section Dt?

Level 4 Ponsford rows V-MM have gone on sale.

But since you refuse to sit on level 4, there is a solitary seat that has gone on sale in M35 on level 1 behind the goals where our cheersquad will be.

16 degrees and a possible shower or two means level 4 might not be the worse option.

I spoke to an MCC official after that game and was told that they had many complaints regarding the behaviour of supporters from a certain Club and it wasn't us!

What I witnessed from a group of their supporters harassing a young family that had the misfortune of sitting in the row in front of the standing room area, the attending MCC "Security" attempting to intervene and the subsequent non action from the two policemen standing in the aisle watching the "kerfuffle" nearly erupt between the father and the lunatics behind, leaves me with the same feeling as you Jaded. I will go (if only to boo Maynard) but my contempt for Collingwood fans can get no more extreme than it is now.

I hope that the Security is strengthened for that game because I know of a lot of MFC supporters who are on the edge and will lose it. I am indeed saving for the cost of my bail but at least I know that WCW will bake me a cake whilst I'm in the lock up (if she's not there with me)😁

Yep, even thinking of that time of year at the G gives me a bad feeling in the stomach. Not to mention it's always around my birthday, lost count of how many of those the filth have ruined.

2012 was the last one I missed when I was in Germany.

My dad jumped the aisles after KB to attack three of them lipping off after they lost, had to give him a bear hug and drag him down or i was worried he'd be down for mass murder.

There is no other game where I feel I have to put the war paint and flak jacket on for. Every other set of fans while there can be lip here and there is a relaxing day at the footy.

But with that lot, well, you're just on edge all the time. Tensions get high and you just want to make it out of there alive.

We both know I’ll be locked up with you. And you’ll be glad of that because if you want a cake that’s edible, I’m not your gal. But… I’d sell a kidney to pay for your bail if it means you’ll bake me a cake, or sausage rolls or anything you cook. 😋

Agree 100%. I had to sit through the Pies match during Gather Round but that’s it for me. I refuse to go to the KB match after last years final. To have to sit amongst the garbage of society is not my idea of a good time. I will watch it from the comfort of my lounge room.

I will set up a Go Fund Me page for you and help bail you out.

Won’t need to. Presuming there will be a file inside the cake.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
