We can't play both Tomlinson and McDonald.

Point of interest; Tomlinson and McDonald have played 22 games together for a 15W to 7L record.

Which means absolutely nothing considering the input they both had.

I think there are 21 certainties Lever May McVee Bowey Tomlinson Rivers Windsor Salem Langdon Billings van Rooyen Neal-Bullen Chandler Schache   Fritsch Gawn Petracca Viney Howes Sparrow and Laurie the 2 spots that are up for grabs would be out of Oliver Fullerton Verrall K. Brown Tholstrup and Hore

I wouldn't have either of them. But I suspect that's a minority position and one not held by the club.

We need Jed Adams to step up and Turner when he's fit again.

based on 7 terms of practice...

2024 opening round 23:
B: McVee - May - Tomlinson
HB: Rivers - Lever - Bowey
C: Langdon - Petracca - Windsor
HF: ANB - JVR - Billings
F: Pup Brown - Fritsch - Chandler
Foll: Gawn - Salem - Viney
I/c: Howes - Verrall - Sparrow - Woewodin
Sub: Laurie

unavailable: spargo - brayshaw (sob) - hunter - oliver - melksham - mcadam - plugger mac - petty - pickett - sideshow bob

i personally would prefer it if we went smaller and had no tomlinson in the backline, but i suspect the intention is to run with that structure

i also somehow doubt this line-up will happen as it'd mean four debutants to start the season which would be pretty unusual for us; for instance based on @Demonland's latest training report schache is still favoured over verrall

if we ever debut a player as a sub i for one will be really disappointed; hate it when clubs do that

Doubt that Woewodin will play Oliver and McDonald are available

[Tomlinson and TMcD].

Yes TMcD appears to be on his last legs, though he is strong and experienced - IF fully fit can definitely play a role, forward or back.

Tomlinson though unspectacular does seem to gel well with May and Lever.

Jed Adams we all hope may be ready for a run later in 2024, and must make a definite move by 2025 if he is to be taken seriously.

Turner - horrible luck with injury.  Fitters and Turners are what keeps the wheels turning - lest hope he finally gets a good run at it.  Could be a real star.

it was after 7! after 11, i'mma go with:

B: McVee - May - Tomlinson
HB: Rivers - Lever - Bowey
C: Langdon - Petracca - Windsor
HF: Neal-Bullen - van Rooyen - Billings
F: Schache - Fritsch - Chandler
Foll: Gawn - Salem - Viney
I/c: Laurie - Howes - Sparrow - Pup Brown
Sub: Woewodin

in an ideal world oliver comes in for laurie, who shifts to the sub

I know nobody likes it but do you think they could debut K. Brown as the sub. I think you will see Oliver play he's done everything right. That means the sub will be out of K. Brown, Woewodin, McDonald, Hore, Tholstrup, Verrall and Fullerton.

I think Laurie has done enough to be in the 22. Fullerton is my favorite for the sub. He could give Gawn a chop out.

no, we've never debuted a player as a sub and i hope we never do
