Thanks Andy! You’re making my new job easy 😅

Besides all you’ve outlined above, the best thing about joining the DA is the great bunch of people you’ll have the pleasure of spending time with. There’s folks of all ages, all walks of life, many different personalities but the one thing we all have is an unwavering passion for our beloved Dees. We have such a well-run cheer squad, harmonious and fair, unlike some other cheer squads where in-fighting and disunity has seen their Club having to step in and take control.

DA members choose their level of involvement; we have members who pay their yearly fee and that’s the extent of their involvement, all the way through to people like me who are like that rash that just won’t go away 😁 and everything in between.

We’re hoping to crack 1000 members this year. I’m sure we’ll get there. ❤️💙

Me and the missus have now joined.

❤️💙

Sounds like pretty good value.

It's safer for " crazies" to stick together.

And I mean that word as a term of endearment. Not it some whacky Dad's army kind of way.

Unfortunately feeling the current economic squeeze at the minute.

Sadly, Kayo has gone up too .

It's back to Aldi imitation Stella Artois.

Presently angry at the Missus for spending a fortune to see the Sydney Swift show. Bah. Humbug. And don't mention the cost of parking for it.

It's damaged the budget beyond the opening round which is a bummer for me, living in Wollongong.

Besides that Swift is no Aretha Franklin... But Once again I digress...

Edited by leave it to deever

Not related to the Demon Army by why can we no longer get players pictures on our membership cards and what happened to the fridge magnets with the draw on them?

They can’t of been costing that much.

“Crazies” is an understatement. I thought I was OTT but there’s some members who are otherworldly levels-passionate. They make me appear normal. 😅

McDonalds it is then. 😜

You wanna kiss a ton of $$$ goodbye? Go for it!

Besides, the McDonalds tent is for promotion purposes, no food. So unless you wanna leave the ground and travel to the nearest Macca’s (which is quite the hike since there’s nothing close to the sch!tt-hole that is Casey)… snags in bread for you (fully paid for)!

YEP

A welcome and well worded email from the club today which allowed me to easily order a plastic membership card (my preference).

Completed the order and they thanked me but then it defaulted back to the start as if I'd done nothing. Repeated the order and same again. Who knows if it worked.

Ah.. First world problems

I'll probably be in Dhaka or Kolkata for the first round so priority delivery is not exactly a must for me

Have not downloaded the MFC App as yet but it's an interesting add on to the communication suite

Edit... my error.. as an AFL member with MFC support I was ineligible for a card as the message said.

Prompted me to go to the AFL site and I was able to order one

Any chance of getting a hot sheila for a date if I joined up WCW ?

We’re a cheer squad, not miracle workers.

If you head down to the MCG tonight, you might be able to pull a swifty.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Hawthorn

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
