Hello all,

I have 4 extra tickets for Gather Round for the Adelaide v Melbourne game.

They are in bay 302, category 1 seats with a cost price of $160 each as part of the 4 day pass. I ended up getting seats in Melbourne bay as well so am looking to offload the 4 seats in 302.

Happy to discuss pricing but would like to try and get around $100 per ticket to try and recoup some losses.

Would very much prefer they go to A Melbourne supporter before I got to an Adelaide forum.

The game is sold out.

I am currently in SA. It appears that most decent accommodation is already booked out. Thankfully I booked our accommodation as soon as the Gather Round was announced. I tried to upgrade my accommodation but was told they were fully booked. I have also been told most of the decent restaurants are also heavily booked. Might be worthwhile to do a bit of forward planning if you are planning on coming to SA.

Won't be going

Booked our hotel the day they announced the dates and will be driving so dont need to deal with airfares

Your probably better served making a week of it....some time in the Hills and Valley. I'm sure pre booking was the smart way to go. Accomodation probably doubled for the football weekend. Airfares probably went up as well. Sadly greedy Vendors and companies shoot themselves in the foot with these events.

They've hardly shot themselves in the foot, all the games are sold out and nearly every hotel is full.

I guess your right.  I do think that hotels and airlines often take advantage with these type of events and raise prices.

If people are happy to pay higher prices then they haven't really " shot themselves in the foot"  I guess they are allowed to. That's Capitalism.

Personally when things go up in price above the norm because companies have been greedy I don't help them and go without.

Gather round sucks.

More now that we have to  play a local team.

Sure two clubs had too.

But surely not the team that just played there the week before.

Deever sorry but you are becoming a regular naysayer recently. Gather Round and our draw etc. Rejecting prices that you don’t like ( your absolute privilege) but we need some occasions in our lives that are a little overpriced as well as the bargains we can gloat about for years.

I missed out in the ticket frenzy for my SA cousin and myself. Luckily his lovely wife got busy and two family outlaw Crows fans who were going away and had contacts rescued us.

Yes I am staying at cousin land in suburban Adelaide now for 5 days for 2 bottles of great Penfolds wine for the tickteers and about 2 shouts of lunch/dinner at Adelaide’s sensational dining scene for dinner/lunch.

Now that’s the bargain !

But 2021 is the hero story.

Stayed in SA for 2 weeks with relies and did a Kangaroo Is plus up country to my fathers birthplace in the Copper area of Moonta and to Clare for some wine relief.

Off to Perth GF Eve for the big games vs the Dogs. Waited all my life ( am in 70,s now) had friend in Perth spare bedroom me for 5 days and soaked up all that glorious event could offer for our long awaited 13th flag.

The catch !!

Ticket price was $456 for the GF good seat however on Angus 3rd quarter wing!!

Too much for the ticket ?? Reject it?? No it is priceless and so many  memories.

BTW I consider $ 200 about the upper limit to concerts for superstars or stage shows.

Yes Gather Round maybe not quite the same but life is living and it’s a probable  once only to be cherished and enjoyed.

Just to fully inform the 14 days in SA was required isolation in Coved protocols and I live in Brisbane and  was not doing a Burbank and friend heist of Australian borders.

Maybe I just have different priorities. I am very concerned about my children securing a deposit for a house.

As such Im happy to go without concerts and expensive sporting events. No way I'll spend 200 bucks to see a concert.

What you call naysaying, I call love.

Ps I don't begrudge you paying $ 465 to go the the gf.

Money very well spent.

I just know my kids are very worried about securing a property one day and it's certainly not going to get easier.

As such Im happy to go without.

Perhaps I shouldn't complain about prices that others are happy to pay.

Cheers.

A regular naysayer?

Seriously 58er do have some sort of impairment where you just make things up.

You sound like Trump.

Or maybe he's someone you admire.

One or two comments about not liking gather round and the cost of living don't exactly equate to regular.

To be fair, If anyone is a naysayer, it's your good self. You often criticize other posters simply for having a different view.

Good gracious. Imagine if everyone had the same opinions.

Don't be so so sensitive if someone says something you don't like. You don't have to exaggerate or name call.

Did I begrudge you spending that money going to the GF?

No. I didn't even know about it. It's none of my business.

You are a master of fabrication and hyperbole.

Anyway try and enjoy yourself and maybe refrain from reading my posts if they irritate you.

Just use the block function, this site offers.

Perhaps before you use words like naysayer, you could note the irony of your many criticisms of others.

Just some free advice.

One of my children live in USA. He's a mad sports fan. Tickets to most sports in the nose bleed section are around US$200 even for College football (Ivy League). He says last minute baseball tickets can be had for around US$40 but they play a lot of games.

Ticket prices here can be a struggle for many but overall they're not too bad.

It's all relative. Went to a Test match in Delhi. Premium seats were A$10 and included a snack box.

For me VFL matches are incredible family value

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend if you are looking for a nice meal head to Juan's Torta Cantina in Brompton, Mexican sandwiches that are amaizing.  Fresh ingredients with those lovely Mexican flavours.   Also some great cocktails!!

If you do go say hi to Jon the chef and owner and tell him DT sent you!

hi

I am unsure if I am allowed to post this here as it is commercial.

If thread is deleted I will understand.

I have a party of three (all were Dees) but one has just had to pull out, so, you will be sitting next to me: Anti-Saint.

The three seats are in Section 303-2, which is in the Western Stand, up the back, on the flank down the end where the Demon Army cheer.

However, I am sure we will be in a Crows nest - I tried to get near Dees but Ticketek is not user friendly (that topic has been covered!).

If you want this one ticket only then DM me (if you can on Demonland I have never DM a fellow member).

I suggest we meet outside the Northern Entrance (Bob Quinn Gate) at say 7:15 and I will scan you in - cash at this time would be easiest.

How does this sound?

Go Dees!

Fans who leave after the Fremantle v Carlton afternoon clash can hand their tickets back. Others can buy them for $10 to access to the Western Bulldogs v Geelong game starting 7.40pm local time, and the money goes to the Children’s and Women’s Hospital. The Presets will also perform during the break between matches.

This system has operated for many years at Wimbledon tennis and works well

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
