Voting closes  this coming Friday 11th.

The 5 standing are...

Peter Adams

James Cain

Anthony Johnson

Sam King

Alice Robinson.

They all have good  corporate experience.  I think we Demon fans should try to get as many Demon-sympathetic committee members as possible. ( I realise they have to be MCC-, and not MFC-minded  when they're on the board, but I think it's preferable to having , say, Collingwood or Hawthorn devotees on the committee)

Do any Demonlanders have any knowledge of  what team any of the candidates follow?  It'd help me, at least, decide how I, and my family vote.

I've been a voting MCC member since the mid 80s and I have never voted in an MCC election. I will if Will Fowles ever runs again. Against him; even if it means supporting Australia's worst person (apart from Fowles).

Is anyone interested?

Yes, if anybody has information on the candidates? Bad luck there are no retired MFC players standing. There are certainly enough former players who belong to the Cricket Club and a good many would have the business experience required to join the committee.

Fun fact - Adrian Anderson is not only on the MCC Committee but is Vice-President. Did not know that!

James has extensive non-executive experience having previously held the position of Chair of Industry Superannuation Property Trust, Chair of the Victorian Ports Corporation and Deputy Chair of the Port of Melbourne Corporation.

He holds a Bachelor of Planning and Design and Bachelor of Building and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

Alice Robinson

Not sure about the other two, but it would be nice to have a shred of info about them.

Paging @Hawk the Demon!

More interested in the MFC. Three vacancies on our Board this year - but, in the past, somehow (as if by magic) the vacancies get filled - just before the Director nomination period opens. We are due for a new Chair of the Nominations Committee - I wonder who that will be? Maybe we will get an improved process.

Thanks, Hawk,.

This thread is about the MCC election, which could have significant, if indirect, relevance to the MFC.

Well that and the DL boards.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
