Kicked his 30 goals for the season but once Tom McDonald was injured, he struggled in the as the sole key forward in the team. It will be interesting to see what role Simon Goodwin has in store for him next year.

"The key forward kicked 30 goals in his second season with the Demons, in which he played 19 games. Brown battled knee soreness at times throughout the year, wear and tear issues the club said he would likely have to manage for the rest of his career." Herald Sun

30 very valuable goals from BBB but he was really beat up by the end of year, can he get back on the park, needs help if he does, we have to go hard for another key forward to either help or replace Ben and we need to do it this draft period. Good luck Ben.!!

Still Reckon Benny can give us some excellent football

But he needs help so he can find space

Battered and bruised. Would be nice if we could hit him up on a lead rather than dumping the ball on his head with 3 defenders hanging out of him

IF he can get back to his 2021 form he could be a valuable player

If not he should never play again for the red and blue. His second half of the year was abysmal. He looked like the mechano man running in concrete and his in ability to take a clean grab was devastating.

We clearly need TMac to come back all healed

BBB's strength is his lead up marking. which is rarely ever utilised in our "game plan".  He has never been a strong contested marking forward but this was how he was utilised in 2022.

So either the game plan needs to change or he will not fit in, especially if JVR develops quickly, and if TMc returns to fitness.

Was an abject failure in the finals.

1 goal across two games for a player on the meaty contact that’s he’s on, Is diabolical.

I apologise if that’s harsh on a much loved player, but we should be expecting more from our number 1 tall forward. If he was indeed injured then why did Goodwin play him in the two finals?

In fairness he did play some very good games throughout the season and was looking set for a big September after a 3 goal game in round 23.

He was the lone tall forward for half a season and playing injured in a team game. Tried manfully despite all the negatives placed on him, with his own weaknesses and coaching failings.

it’s hard to be a forward with little KPF support in a defensive game plan and poor midfield pressure along with poor skills coming at you.

his contract ain’t that meaty either. Above average

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
